The Russian military destroyed one of Ukraine’s remaining British-made Challenger 2 main battle tanks in the Kursk direction.
The tank, which belonged to Ukraine’s elite 82nd Air Assault Brigade, was destroyed by the Russian Sever Group of Force to the south of the settlement of Sheptukhovka with a Lancet loitering munition, according to video footage that first surfaced online on August 11. The footage shows the tank, which was hidden under trees, bursting into a ball of fire after being hit by the loitering munition.
The United Kingdom supplied at least 14 Challenger 2 tanks to Kiev forces in 2023. The tanks first saw action that year during the ill-fated Ukrainian spring counteroffensive. They performed very poorly, with around half of them reportedly being destroyed, damaged or placed out of service due to technical problems. Afterwards, the remaining tanks were withdrawn from the frontline.
The appearance of Ukraine’s remaining Challenger 2 tanks in Kursk was not surprising as Kiev forces mainly relied on Western-made weapons when they launched their attack in the region earlier this month.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, 2,300 Ukrainian troops, 37 tanks, 32 armored personnel carriers, 18 infantry fighting vehicles, 192 armored fighting vehicles, 88 motor vehicles, four air defense systems, two multiple rocket launchers and 15 field artillery guns have been naturalized since the start of the attack on Kursk.
The Russian military halted the advance of Kiev forces in the very first days of the attack and is now destroying the remaining infiltrators.

nice, thet burn better than abrams. but abrams burning is still my favourite
amazing what a blast, the british have always been bad at making tanks
centurion was pretty good for its time, and that’s about the only success they ever had.
southfront’s propaganda is sounding like a broken record.
people on both sides will believe anyone who says what they want to hear.
so, you blew up a tank. big deal, they took part of your country.
and you death toll numbers are just sky high stupid.
it was a game changing turn the tide of the war main battle tank. and ukranazis are temporarily in kursk it won’t be long before they’re forced to retreat.
are those that are left, encircled in a cauldron, as i type? will they be able to get out, without a body bag?
the ukrainians and their us owners, flip flop from crowing about how the russians are destroyed and can’t fight and have no weapons and use antiques, to screeching that russian tankers will rip through the baltics and end up sunbathing on the turrets of their t-90s at calais in two weeks unless krusty gets $200 billion by friday.
burisma – biden – hunter – devon (kerry presidential campaign fund raiser) – christopher heinz (step-son of john kerry) – now what did they have to gain with taking out ns1 and 2? why are the western media now talking about ns1 and ns2, allegedly agreed by zelinsky and the ukrainian ambassador to the uk zaluzhny, was the brains (seriously) behind it all. $200 billion to uk, does that also include the 10% to the big man bonus?
my dumb amerikunt peasant imho only understand mickey mouse
the russians knew a month in advance that something might be up. that’s why the chechens and wagner were so close by, just in case. it was a trap, doofus. a roach motel. now it’s a mop and bucket brigade at work.
must admit, besides the western media running the propaganda, i did wonder how much russia got in return. bearing in mind, ukraine sent in their elite nazi personnel and 2,000 of them are in body bags, whilst the rest i assume are stuck in a cauldron and never getting out.
kursk is or was just a distraction hoping the russians would be forced to move troops from donbass to kursk to lessen the pressure the russians have on the war weary ukie-troops. but no, the russians brought no troops from donbass to kursk but used the troops they had available in the region. and that was quite enough since the poor elite forces the ukies employed are so defeated that they are withdrawn from the area. tough luck when stupid ideas fail!
they were also hoping to capture the nuclear power plant, to use as a trading tool in negotiations. why are ukraine so obsessed with the power stations, when you consider what they experienced when chernobyl blew? or was the latter a designed false flag, by the usual suspects?
so why waste your time and energy commenting on a site you do not like? in the meantime, how much is left of the ukrainian gene pool?
oi mate, you cant destroy me bloody brilliant challenger tank like that! blimes! crickey! do you have a loicense to do this?
well they certainly won’t be getting any replacement challenger 2s from the uk as we only have a few left for ourselves.
have to ward off a scottish invasion, eh?
last time we were invaded by the scots, were when the scottish labour mps, brown and blair and their mates, were running the uk government. how did that work out? why did blair’s defence minister give a glowing reference, when thomas hamilton (dunblane school siege) was looking to renew his gun license?
2) the same scottish labour mp, who ended up being sent to lead nato. his only experience was a ‘peace campaigner’. funny that, how the peace activists and kiddie sniffers end up in senior management positions, over in nato.
do you remember, back in 2014, when we sent the saxon, which had to be decommissioned, owing to the fact it was too dangerous to use? not a good advert for uk defence engineering projects.
burn baby burn! if this was winter the ukrainians could use them for heat and cooking!
how many nato members, on vacation, or ukie forces were stuck in the tank?
burn baby, burn.
some bitch reporter on sky news was almost having a orgasm as she reported british challenger tanks were in russia, what i want to know is how they got into ukraine to start with, all those heavy nato weapons can only arrive by rail into the country there shouldn’t be a railway still standing in ukraine.
romania – easy to ship them to odessa? how do most nato weapons arrive in ukraine? bearing in mind russia is doing a good job at erasing many of them, post delivery.
enland chellenge tanks invading kyrsk. england so glad
inferior anglo trash demolished by superior russian🤣
for all we know tlit can be a garbage bin burning. i swear the russians must be getting their video technology from africa.
yet, they can still reach the space station while america’s giving their astronauts an extra six month sabbatical.
that is what happens when you stop using russian engines in your space rockets. boeing, never delivers. in fact what idiots would book boeing to taxi their cosmonauts to the space station?
as ooposed to ‘white helmet film productions’ or the larry diamond propaganda studios.
“burning armored vehicles, destroyed landing forces: the russian armed forces defeated another column of the ukrainian armed forces in an open area in the kursk region”
topwar
the tank was probably carrying extra fuel containers on it’s outside.
galician dna, so comes to mind, whilst laughing at your comment.
they came, they challenged, they burned
