Kiev forces sustained heavy losses in manpower and equipment across the front in the last 24 hours, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense briefing on August 11.
In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian Zapad Group of Forces continued offensive actions on a broad front and improved the tactical situation near Olshana and Pershotravnyovoye. The group also repelled four attacks and counterattacks by Ukraine’s 32nd, 41st, 44th and 67th mechanized brigades near Novosyolovskye, Sinkovka and Mankovka.
The ministry said that Ukrainian losses in this direction amounted to 165 troops, two armored fighting vehicles, two pickup trucks, a Polish-made Krab self-propelled howitzer and two American-made AN/TPQ-50 counter-battery radars.
Meanwhile in the Donetsk direction, the Russian Yug Group of Forces repelled five attacks by the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade, the 79th Airborne Assault Brigade, the 59th Motorised Rifle Brigade and the 3rd Tank Brigade of Kiev forces close to Nevelskoye, Belogorovka, Staromikhalovka, Maloilinovka and Veseloye.
Up to 180 Ukrainian troops, seven infantry fighting vehicles, two pickup trucks, a Strela-10 short-range air defense system, an American-made M109 Paladin self-propelled howitzer and two D-20 towed howitzers were destroyed by the group during the fighting in this direction, according to the ministry.
In the South Donetsk direction, the Russian Vostok Group of Forces thwarted a reconnaissance in force attempt by Kiev forces near Staromayorskoye. The group also repelled three attacks by Ukraine’s 72nd Mechanised Brigade and the 38th Marine Brigade near Nikolskoye and Urozhaynoye.
According to the ministry, 35 Ukrainian troops, two armored fighting vehicles, two motor vehicles and a D-30 towed howitzer were destroyed in this direction.
In the Zaporozhye direction, the Vostok Group of Forces repelled three attacks by the 21st Mechanised Brigade of Kiev forces near Uspenovka and Rabotino. 60 Ukrainian troops, three motor vehicles and a D-30 towed howitzer were destroyed during the fighting.
Meanwhile in the Krasny Liman direction, the Russian Tsentr Group of Forces repelled two attacks by Ukraine’s 68rd Infantry Brigade and the 42nd Mechanised Brigade close to Novoegorovka and Kremennaya.
The group neutralized 115 Ukrainian troops, three armored fighting vehicles and a D-20 towed howitzer, according to the ministry.
In the Kherson direction, Russian military fire killed 20 Ukrainian troops and destroyed two pickup trucks, an American-made M777 towed howitzer, a D-20 towed howitzer as well as a Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer.
The Russian MoD also provided the following details in its briefing:
Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have neutralized manpower and military hardware in 139 areas.
A temporary deployment point of foreign mercenaries has been hit near Zaporozhye.
Moreover, four ammunition depots of AFU 24th, 43rd, 60th mechanized brigades and the 108th Territorial Defence Brigade have been destroyed close to Toretsk (Donetsk People’s Republic), Cherneshina, Liptsi (Kharkov region) and Gulyai Pole (Zaporozhye region).
Air defense units have intercepted two HIMARS MLRS projectiles during the day.
Moreover, 16 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles have been shot down close to Kupyansk (Kharkov region), Lisichansk (Lugansk People’s Republic), Artyomovsk, Volnovakha (Donetsk People’s Republic), Oreknov and Gulyai Pole (Zaporozhye region).
In total, 458 airplanes and 245 helicopters, 5,654 unmanned aerial vehicles, 429 air defense missile systems, 11,230 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1144 combat vehicles equipped with MRLS, 5,847 field artillery, cannons and mortars, as well as 12,176 units of special military equipment have been destroyed during the special military operation.
In addition, Russian news sources shared videos and photos showing several Russian air, missile, drone and artillery strikes as well as some recent losses of Kiev forces, including a Spanish-made NTGS Alakran self-propelled mortar, a German-made Leopard 2 tank, a Solvinian-supplied BVP M-80 infantry fighting vehicle, a Strela-10 short-range air defense system, an American-made Bradley infantry fighting vehicle and a Swedish-made CV90 armored combat vehicle.

Despite sustaining heavy losses in manpower and equipment during their recent attacks, Kiev forces failed to advance in any direction. Still, the counteroffensive will likely continue as the Kiev regime appears to be desperate to score any achievement before winter.
