On February 21, the Russian military’s Vostok [East] Group of Forces repelled another wave of counterattacks, foiled several infiltration attempts and even thwarted a “flag-planting” operation by Kiev forces close to the Haichur River in Zaporizhzhia.

Two counterattacks carried out by the 425th Separate Assault Regiment and the 95th Rifle Division were repelled by the Vostok Group of Forces near Sosnovka and Kolomiytsi, respectively. Troops from the 425th Separate Assault Regiment advanced on foot, backed by a main battle tank, while the soldiers of the 95th Rifle Division attempted to advance on all-terrain vehicles. Both failed to make any meaningful gains.

Separately, the Vostok Group of Forces foiled three infiltration attempts by small groups of troops from the 95th Rifle Division, 225th Separate Assault Regiment, and 210th Separate Assault Regiment.

The groups attempted to infiltrate Russian defenses near Aleksyevka, Staroukrainka, and Pryluki, but were ultimately neutralized.

In Pryluki itself, the Vostok Group of Forces foiled a “flag-planting” operation. Kiev forces used drones to plant four flags in different parts of the settlement. Nevertheless, Russian troops reacted quickly and removed the flags. Footage confirming that the settlement is still under Russian control was also released.

In addition, a series of Russian air and artillery strikes hit gatherings of the 475th Assault Regiment, 425th Separate Assault Regiment, and 225th Separate Assault Regiment in Novonikolaevka and Verkhnya-Tersa, Vozdvizhevka, and Komsomolskoe.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense daily briefing, the Vostok Group of Forces neutralized 370 Ukrainian troops, one tank, one armored fighting vehicle, and 18 motor vehicles over the past 24 hours.

Ukraine began launching coordinated counterattacks near the Haichur last week after bringing large reinforcements, including several assault formations and foreign mercenary groups. So far, these counterattacks have been costly, and largely ineffective.

The scale of the last wave in particular shows that the formations involved have begun to lose their combat capabilities. Previous days witnessed at least six advance attempts by Kiev forces on average.

The Ukrainian counterattack in Zaporizhzhia is clearly fading away. However, this does not mean that the intensity of the fighting will go down, as the Vostok Group of Forces will likely attempt to advance across the direction.

The Narrative

the temporary ukrainian counteroffensive in zaporizhzhia was likely an attempt to gain any concession from russia at geneva meeting. throwing bodies to death means nothing if it serves globalists political agenda. covering failure is the main feature zio media theater. why else would they find, train and prepare so many foolish actors
