The Russian military inflicted more human and material losses on Kiev forces in the directions of South Donetsk, Zaporozhye and Kupyansk on July 18 and 19.
In the South Donetsk direction, the Russian Vostok Group of Forces foiled an attempt by Kiev forces to rotate personnel at positions in the areas of Makarovka, Staromayorsky and south of Ravnopol. The group also destroyed an artillery piece near Novomikhailovka with a drone.
Moreover, the group’s artillery destroyed a Ukrainian mortar to the northwest of Novodonetsk and a Msta-B towed howitzer in Privolnoye. Several gatherings of Ukrianain troops in the Staromayorsky area were also targeted.
Meanwhile, in the Zaporozhye direction, several Ukrainian infantry units who attempted to attack in the direction of Rabotino were targeted and forced to retreat.
In addition, a stronghold of Kiev forces in the Dorozhnyanka area was destroyed and an attempt to rotate infantry units in the Novodanilovka area was thwarted. In the Gulyai Polya area, a mortar was also destroyed.
The air defenses of the Vostok Group of Forces also managed to shoot down two Ukrainian A1-CM Furia reconnaissance drones.
In the Kupyansk direction, the crews of Ka-52, Mi-28 attack helicopters and Su-25 attack aircraft of the Russian Zapad Group of Forces carried out eight airstrikes against gatherings of manpower and equipment of Ukraine’s 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade and territorial defense battalions.
The artillery of the group also thwarted an attempt to rotate units of the 32nd Separate Mechanized Brigade near the area of Stelmakhovka. In addition, as a result of reconnaissance and search operations in the area of the Popov forest, seven Ukrainian troops were captured. The total losses of Kiev forces in this direction amounted to a platoon of infantry and an MTLB armored vehicle.
In the Dvurechensk direction, units from the Zapad Group of Forces managed to capture four strongholds and three observation posts near the settlement of Masyutovka and the station of Sinkovka. Ukraine lost two infantry platoons during the clashes. A Tor air defense system of the group also shot down a Ukrainai Columbus drone over the settlement of Kolomyychikha.
Meanwhile, new videos that surfaced online showed recent strikes with Lancet loitering munitions against nine pieces of equipment of Kiev forces, including an American-made M777 towed howitzer and a British-made Stormer HVM short-range air defense system.
Well over a month into their counteroffensive, the situation of Kiev forces appears to be getting worse. Ukrainian human and material losses are mounting. Meanwhile, there are still no meaningful gains from the ground. The Russian military continues to dominate the battlefield in all directions.
