The Russian military has successfully repelled several Ukrainian attacks across the frontline, the Russian Ministry of Defense said in a briefing on January 25.
In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian Zapad Group of Forces repelled four attacks by Ukraine’s 30th, 32nd, 57th mechanized brigades’ close to Makeyevka and Sinkovka (Kharkov region.
Up to 40 Ukrainian troops, two armored fighting vehicles, three pick-up trucks and two Polish-made Krab self-propelled howitzers were neutralized during the fighting in this direction, according to the MoD.
Meanwhile in the Krasny Liman direction, the Russian Tsentr Group of Forces repelled two attacks by the 117th Territorial Defence Brigade close to Yampolovka and Chervonaya Dibrova.
The ministry said that Kiev forces lost some 270 troops, two tanks, two infantry fighting vehicles, eight armored fighting vehicles and 20 motor vehicles.
In the Donetsk direction, the Russian Yug Group of Forces improved their position along the front line. The group also repelled three attacks by the 22nd Mechanised Brigade near Kleshcheyevka and targeted several gatherings of manpower and equipment there.
Some 310 Ukrainian troops, four tanks, four armored fighting vehicles and seven motor vehicles were neutralized there, the ministry said.
It added that counter-battery fire destroyed one United States-made M270 MLRS system, one U.S.-made M777 towed howitzer, one Akatsiya self-propelled howitzer, one D-20 towed howitzer, one Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer and two D-30 towed howitzers as well as two ammunition depots.
In the South Donetsk direction, the Russian Vostok Group of Forces struck a gathering of troops from Ukraine’s 31st mechanized and 79th air assault brigades close to Staromayorskoye and Novomikhailovka. The ministry said that 130 troops, one tank, two infantry fighting vehicles, three motor vehicles, one Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer, one Giatsint-B towed howitzer and one electronic warfare station were neutralized in this direction.
In the Zaporozhye direction, Russian forces struck several gatherings from the 33rd, 65th mechanized, 128th mountain assault, and 112th territorial defense brigades of Kiev foces close to Rabotino, Yurkovka and Verbovoye.
The strikes neutralized some 130 Ukrainian troops, one tank, and four pick-up trucks, according to the ministry. One Polish-made Krab self-propelled howitzer, one Czech-made RM-70 Vampire multiple rocket launcher, one Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer, and one D-20 towed howitzer were also destroyed by counter-battery fire.
And in the Kherson direction, units of the Ukrainian 35th Marines Brigade were hit near Tyaginka. Some 45 Ukrainian troops and three motor vehicles were neutralized.
The ministry also said that Russian counter-battery fire destroyed one Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer, one U.S.-made M777 towed howitzer and one Grad multiple rocket launcher.
The ministry also provided the following details in it briefing:
Operational-Tactical Aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles, and Missile Troops and Artillery of the Russian Groups of Forces have engaged AFU manpower and hardware in 109 areas during the day.
Air defense forces shot down four HIMARS MLRS projectiles and one Tochka-U tactical missile during the day.
In addition, 91 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles have been destroyed near Belogorovka (Donetsk People’s Republic), Ploshchanka (Lugansk People’s Republic), Tokarevka, Tavolzhanka (Kharkov region), Sagi (Kherson region), Verbovoye, Ulyanovka, and Tokmak (Zaporozhye region).
In total, 568 airplanes and 265 helicopters, 11,231 unmanned aerial vehicles, 452 air defense missile systems, 14,794 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,209 combat vehicles equipped with MLRS, 7,861 field artillery guns and mortars, as well as 17,878 units of special military equipment have been destroyed during the special military operation.
Moreover, the ministry released videos showing Su-25 warplanes attacking Ukrainian targets and a Tor-M2 air defense system intercepting drones launched by Kiev forces.
Despite the failure of the Ukrainian counteroffensive, Kiev forces are still launching small-scale attacks on a daily basis. However, they are sustaining heavy losses and making no gains.
