Russian Army Targeted Decision-Making Centers In Ukraine, Repelled New Wave Of Attacks (Videos)

The Russian military has carried out a strike with high-precision weapons against a Ukrainian military command center, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced during its briefing on August 24.

“Last night, the Russian Armed Forces delivered a multiple-launch strike by seaborne and ground-based long-range precision weapons against a Ukrainian military command center,” Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, a spokesman for the ministry, said.

The goal of the pinpoint strike was achieved, according to the spokesman, who said that “the target was destroyed”.

The ministry also announced that the Russian military had repelled a new wave of attacks by Kiev forces in different directions across the front.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian Zapad Group of Forces repelled five attacks close to Novosyolovskoye, Novoegorovka and Sinkovka. Kiev forces lost 50 troops, two infantry fighting vehicles, three pickup trucks and three American-manufactured M777 towed howitzers, according to the ministry.

Meanwhile in the Zaporozhye direction, five Ukrainian attacks were repelled near Rabotino and Uspenovka by Russian forces.

The ministry said that Ukrainian losses in this direction amounted to 110 troops, four tanks, three armored fighting vehicles, four motor vehicles, a Polish-made Krab self-propelled howitzer and four American-made M777 towed howitzers.

In the Donetsk direction, the Russian Yug Group of Forces repelled six attacks by Kiev forces close to Severnoye, Berestovoye and Nevelskoye.

Up to 125 Ukrainian troops were neutralized, according to the ministry. One tank, four infantry fighting vehicles, four motor vehicles and one Msta-B towed howitzer were also destroyed. Moreover, an ammunition depot was destroyed near Verkhnekamenskoye.

In the South Donetsk direction, the Russian Vostok Group of Forces repelled a Ukrainian attack near Priyutnoye. The group also targeted several units of the 37th and 38th brigades of the Ukrainian Marines close to Urozhaynoye and the Oktyabr state farm.

Kiev forces 230 troops, two armored personnel carriers, three motor vehicles and two Gvozdika self-propelled howitzers during the fighting, according to the ministry.

In the Krasny Liman direction, the Russian Tsentr Group of Forces repelled three attacks near Grigorovka, Torskoye and Chervonaya Dibrova. The ministry said that up to 80 Ukrainian troops, three armored fighting vehicles and two pickup trucks were neutralized there.

And in the Kherson direction, Kiev forces lost 30 troops, two motor vehicles as well as one Msta-B and one D-30 towed howitzers to Russian military fire. In addition, a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group was neutralized.

In addition, 42 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles have been destroyed close to Kudryashovka, Lisichansk, Shishkovo (Lugansk People’s Republic), Gorlovka, Nikolskoye, Artyomovsk, Berestovoye, Klyuchevoye (Donetsk People’s Republic), Pologi, Tokmak (Zaporozhye region), Dobropolye (Kherson region) and Tavolzhanka (Kharkov region).

In total, 462 airplanes, 246 helicopters, 6,012 unmanned aerial vehicles, 433 air defense missile systems, 11,476 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,144 fighting vehicles equipped with MLRS, 6,024 field artillery cannons and mortars, as well as 12,408 special military motor vehicles have been destroyed during the special military operation.

In addition, Russian news sources released videos showing two damaged engineering vehicles of Kiev forces, an American-made M88A2 and a Ukrainian-made BMR-64, as well as four recent strikes by Russian attack helicopters and artillery strikes against several Ukrainian positions and an artillery piece.

All in all, the Ukrainian counteroffensive, which began more than eleven weeks ago, appears to be heading to failure. Despite sustaining heavy human and material losses, Kiev forces are yet to make any major breakthrough in any direction.
