In the Sumy direction, Russian assault groups advanced on twenty sectors by up to 500 meters, fighting in Ulanovo, Pisarevka, Marino, and Khoten. In the Kharkiv region, Russian units established control over Shcherbakovka, expanding the security zone east of Kazachya Lopan, where fierce clashes continue. In the Konstantinovka direction, Russian forces intensified efforts to eliminate the “pocket” near Chasov Yar and are advancing toward Stenki and Krasnoye. In the Dnepropetrovsk direction, Russian units broke through the defense in the Molodetskoye area and almost fully captured Novopodgorodnoye, opening the path to Novopavlovka. In the Dobropolye direction, after the clearance of Shevchenko, heavy fighting continues in the Krasnopodolye area and on the southeastern outskirts of Dobropolye, where a cauldron is forming southeast of Shevchenko. In the Kupyansk direction, Russian forces are compressing Ukrainian positions along the Oskol, but the advance is complicated by drone activity. According to Politico, EU countries closer to Russia are increasingly less willing to transfer Patriot systems to Ukraine due to their own insufficient air defense capabilities.
Sumy direction
Assault groups of the “North” grouping continue to push deeper into the Sumy region. Strikes were carried out against concentrations of personnel and equipment of Ukrainian units in the areas of the city of Sumy, Gruzkoye, the villages of Sadki and Korenyok, Baranovka, Nikolaevka, Sloboda, Bereza, Tolstodubovo, and Shostka. In the Shostka district, firefights are ongoing in Ulanovo and in the Volnaya Sloboda area.
In the Sumy district, Russian assault units advanced on twenty sectors, with a total advance of up to 500 meters. Firefights continue unabated in Pisarevka, Marino, Khrapovshchina, the settlement of Khoten, adjacent territories, and in forest areas south of Ivolzhanskoye.
Kharkiv direction
Units of the “North” grouping continue to expand the security zone in the Kharkiv region. Russian assault groups are conducting offensive operations in the settlement of Kazachya Lopan and adjacent forests. An assault group from the 475th separate assault regiment attempted to break through from Novaya Kazachya into the forest belt near Kazachya Lopan but was eliminated.
On the Volchansk sector, assault units of the “North” advanced on nine sectors by up to 300 meters. Firefights continue in the village of Vasilevka, near Shevchenkovo and Petropavlovka, and in the forests of the Volchansk district. In the Velikiy Burluk direction, Russian assault groups continue firefights in the Vodyanoye area and west of Ustinovka.
The settlement of Shcherbakovka, located east of Kazachya Lopan, where fierce clashes continue, came under Russian control. If Russian units manage to hold and expand their control zone, the assault on Kazachya Lopan will be somewhat eased. The Slobozhansk direction has long remained secondary compared to the neighboring Sumy and Burluk directions and will likely remain so for now.
Konstantinovka direction
Russian units intensified efforts to eliminate the “pocket” in the Chasov Yar area on the Druzhkovka direction. The salient with heights near Krasnoye, which finally formed after the capture of Konstantinovka, no longer plays the same tactical role for Ukrainian units, as Russian forces are already advancing further toward Alekseevka and Druzhkovka.
From the Molocharka side, small groups are advancing on the approaches to Stenki; fighting continues for nearby forests and tracts. Ukrainian units use the extensive forest belts north of Verolyubovka for cover. From the Chasov Yar side, Russian troops are gradually pushing Ukrainian forces into Krasnoye from the western areas of the city.
The entire eastern flank of this direction is significantly better fortified than the western flank, but this is an advantage not only for the defenders but also for the attackers. Any strongpoint provides shelter from drones, and the density of personnel seen in 2026 no longer exists. The main problem remains crossing open terrain. Russian forces thus have the prospect of advancing on a broad front from Konstantinovka to Mayskoye and Markovo, finally closing the “pocket” in Chasov Yar and beginning fighting for Verolyubovka.
Dnepropetrovsk direction
Russian forces broke through the Ukrainian defense in the Molodetskoye area and reached Novopodgorodnoye and south of it. Novopodgorodnoye has been almost fully brought under Russian control; control has also been established over the sector with lowlands and ravines along the Solenaya River and the sector along the T-0406 highway. Fighting continues in the Muravka area, where Ukrainian units are holding their lines. The loss of Muravka would open the path to Novopavlovka for Russian forces, while the Ukrainian side would lose the logistics needed to hold positions and conduct counterattacks in the Filiya area.
Kupyansk direction
On the left bank of the Oskol, Russian units continue to compress Ukrainian positions, pushing them toward the river floodplain. Strikes and combat operations continue in the Kupyansk-Uzlovoy area, as well as clearance of individual positions on the sector from Zaoskolye to Novoosinovo. On this sector, the Ukrainian side still maintains an advantage in “low-altitude airspace,” complicating the advance of Russian groups. Reports also indicate the presence of foreign mercenaries within Ukrainian units.
On most sectors, the situation remains tense, with high intensity of hostilities. In the Borovaya and Rubtsovsk directions, heavy positional fighting and local counterattacks continue. The most difficult situation persists near Krasny Liman, where Ukrainian units continue to hold part of the urban area and redeploy reinforcements. The main struggle on this sector revolves around logistics, crossings, and isolated strongpoint areas.
Dobropolye direction
Despite the large number of drones, Russian forces successfully cleared Shevchenko and continue to advance in the Krasnopodolye area. Ukrainian units are now trying to hold the line at Chernigovka – Svetloye. Russian forces have also formed a cauldron southeast of Shevchenko, which will either close into a full encirclement or force Ukrainian units to withdraw from their positions.
The Ukrainian side holds onto several strongpoints and forest belts supported by drone fire; logistics are also provided by drones. From the Shevchenko side, Russian troops are advancing along the main street toward Matyashevo, capturing abandoned positions. Russian forces are also fighting on the southeastern outskirts of Dobropolye and advancing toward Annovka, adjacent to the city from the west. All logistics routes are under control, and the Ukrainian side cannot accumulate resources for a full-scale counterattack.
Conclusion
In the Sumy, Kharkiv, Konstantinovka, Dnepropetrovsk, Kupyansk, and Dobropolye directions, Russian units continue to exert systematic pressure, expanding their control zones and inflicting losses on the Ukrainian side. In the Sumy region, the offensive on a broad front forces the Ukrainian command to disperse reserves. In the Kharkiv region, the capture of Shcherbakovka and fighting in Kazachya Lopan expand the security zone. In the Konstantinovka direction, the methodical elimination of the “pocket” near Chasov Yar continues. In the Dnepropetrovsk region, the breakthrough at Molodetskoye and the capture of Novopodgorodnoye open the road to Novopavlovka. In the Dobropolye direction, the formation of a cauldron southeast of Shevchenko and fighting on the outskirts of Dobropolye create the prerequisites for an assault on the city. In the Kupyansk and Borovaya directions, heavy positional fighting continues, while near Krasny Liman, Ukrainian units maintain a presence in the urban area.
According to the European publication Politico, EU countries closer to Russia are increasingly less willing to transfer Patriot systems or interceptor missiles to Ukraine. A senior European diplomat explained that the armed forces of these countries have already assessed their air defense capabilities as insufficient to meet national requirements. Ukrainian diplomats are working with Spain and Greece, which have such systems, but the issue comes down to the US position. According to the official, Washington could help but is not doing so, making it difficult for everyone else. Kyiv is thus facing growing difficulties in replenishing its anti-aircraft missile stocks, which could affect its ability to protect critical facilities.
