On August 29, the People’s Militia of the Donetsk People’s Republic declared that the Russian Army took control of the town of Konstantinovka in the Southern Donetsk direction.
According to the official report, the town was liberated by soldiers of the 57th motorized rifle regiment of the 20th motorized rifle division of the 8th guards combined arms army of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
“There is no longer a trace of the occupation troops of the Kiev nationalist regime in the settlement. The coherence and professionalism of the military personnel of this unit made it possible to inflict crushing losses on the AFU militants and bury the hopes of the Ukrainian occupiers to contain the rapid offensive of the Russian Army in the Kurakhovsky direction,” the report reads.
Russian rapid advance in the Southern Donetsk direction poses a strategic threat of encirclement to the Ukrainian grouping operating in the city of Ugledar, the main Ukrainian stronghold on a wide area of steppes. According to reports from the front, after the loss of Konstantinovka and the Konstantinovka – Ugledar highway, the Armed Forces of Ukraine abandoned their positions in the Pavlovka area located on the outskirts of Ugledar.
The situation of the Ukrainian Army is rapidly deteriorating in different directions and the Ukrainian military has no forces to stop Russian offensive in the coming months.
