The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation summed up the results of another week of the Special Military Operation in Ukraine. The Russian military published new weekly update from November 30th to December 6th, 2024. Another week of hostilities was marked by the ongoing offensive of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Despite their attempts to counterattack, the Armed Forces of Ukraine cannot stop Russian advance in different directions.
The Pokrovsk, Kurakhovo and Southern Donetsk directions remained the main battlefields, where the Russian military won most of its victories. In just a week, units of the Russian South, Center and East groups liberated five settlements in the Donetsk People’s Republic and another in the Zaporizhia region.
On December 6th, the full Russian control of the villages of Sukhie Yaly located south of Kurakhovo and Pustynka in the Pokrovsk direction was officially confirmed.
“As a result of active actions, the units of the South group of troops liberated the settlements of Ilyinka and Romanovka in the DPR, the stormtroopers of the Center group of troops, continuing to advance into the depth of the enemy’s defense, liberated Petrovka and Pustynka in the DPR. As a result of active actions, the troops of the Vostok group liberated Novodarovka in the Zaporozhye region and Sukhie Yaly in the DPR. Units of the Dnepr group of forces defeated the manpower and equipment of four mechanized and infantry brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and three air defense brigades,” the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.
Forces of the North group of forces continued destroying Ukrainian military positions in the Kursk and Kharkiv regions, while the West group largely expanded their zone of control in the Kupyans area, but without liberating settlements.
Also during the week, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched 6 group strikes with drones and missiles on targets in Ukrainian rear regions. All designated targets have been destroyed, the Russian Ministry of Defense concluded.
In just a week, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost 13160 people killed and wounded in all directions, 61 Ukrainian servicemen were captured prisoners. During the week, 441 aircraft-type drones were intercepted by air defense systems, and eight unmanned boats were destroyed by the naval aviation of the Black Sea Fleet.
