Russian Artillery Continue To Hunt Down Ukraine’s U.S.-Made M777 Howitzers (Videos)

The Russian Missile Troops and Artillery continue to hunt down U.S.-made M777 155 mm towed howitzers which were recently supplied to Ukraine.

On October 14, Russian sources shared a video documenting a successful Russian rocket strike on a Ukrainian M777 battery made up of three howitzers in the Zaporozhye region. The strike destroyed one of the howitzers and damaged the remaining two.

Later on October 19, a second video showing a Russian artillery strike on a Ukrainian M777 howitzer in the Kharkiv region surfaced online. The strike completely destroyed the howitzer, along with its ammunition.

The M777 howitzer has a maximum rate of fire of seven rounds per minute with a range of up to 40 kilometers when firing Excalibur precision-guided rounds.

After the start of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine, the U.S. supplied 108, Canada four and Australia six M777 howitzers to Kiev forces. Since then, hundreds of thousands of 155 mm shells, including hundreds of Excalibur rounds, have been shipped to Ukraine.

The Russian Missile Troops and Artillery have already destroyed or damaged many of Ukraine’s newly-acquired M777 howitzers, which failed to boost the fire power of Kiev forces.

According to the most recent briefing by the Russian Ministry of Defense, Kiev forces have lost 873 multiple rocket launchers and 3489 artillery pieces and mortars since the start of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine last February.

Mini Tactical Hypersonic Nuke locked on Kiev

what I like on both videos is the fact that it was multiple hits (without being overkill), just to be sure that no Nazi survived. In case of missiles , their trajectory can be corrected by drones even after locking the target.

perhaps all the militants died, and it makes no sense to destroy the equipment.

Keep in mind, the videos are only short ones, we do not know what happened after. Maybe the next strikes hit the other peaces.

This war proved that classic stationary artillery is extremely vulnerable, even obsolete today. MLRS and self-propelled art can fire and change positions rapidly but towed art need too much time to deploy and fire, and then to move again. You simply don’t have this luxury on modern battlefields.

After so many wayward and mis-hits, two targets were hit. Kudos Russian artillery forces. In the first video most of the rockets missed target. Many fell into the river.
