Units from the 7th Guards Air Assault Division are advancing through residential areas in Stepnogorsk. In Sumy Oblast, a deployment point for foreign mercenaries was destroyed. Criticism of new social initiatives was voiced in the Ukrainian parliament.
Zaporizhzhia Sector
In the south of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, offensive operations are being continued by units of the «East» grouping. The main clashes are taking place in the Uspenovka area, which, according to Russian sources, is now mostly under the control of the advancing units.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are counterattacking towards Uspenovka from the Novoye and Sladkoye lines. Further south, Russian units are advancing towards Veseloye and Zeleny Gai from the Poltavka and Malinovka areas. To the north, the clearance of the Rybnoye locality is nearing completion.
West of Yegorovka, units have entered Danilovka, where intense fighting is ongoing. In the Novoaleksandrovka area, combat operations are ongoing in the Gai locality, with simultaneous advancement towards Otradnoye. According to operational information from the Russian command, there have been engagements in the Novoselovka and Sosnovka area.
Reports are coming in of Russian reconnaissance and sabotage groups being detected in Aleksandrovka, a suburb of the Pokrovskoye settlement on the left bank of the Volchya River.
Combat operations continue in the city of Stepnogorsk in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Russian units of the 7th Guards Air Assault Division are conducting systematic operations in residential areas. These operations are characterised by the use of reconnaissance groups to direct artillery strikes, followed by the advance of assault units.
Offensive operations are ongoing in the area of responsibility of the «East» grouping. Russian units of the 29th Army advanced in the northern sector, occupying a line between Alekseevka and Novoaleksandrovka. There have been losses among the defending AFU personnel.
The Russian 36th Army is conducting an offensive in the Nechaevka area, putting additional pressure on the logistical hub in Pokrovsk. In the 5th Army’s area of responsibility, assault groups are continuing operations in Uspenovka, where the defenders have sustained significant losses, including equipment.
Sumy Sector
The intensity of combat operations has decreased due to deteriorating weather conditions. There were no reports of active offensive actions by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
It is reported that a «Geran» unmanned aerial vehicle struck a deployment point of foreign mercenaries. Reports are coming in of the elimination of several individuals from Latin American countries.
On the right flank of the offensive, Russian naval infantry units advanced 100 metres in the Andriivka area and then consolidated their positions. Assault aviation struck concentrations of personnel in the Rohozinka area.
Kharkiv Sector
Intense clashes continue in Vovchansk. Russian units are expanding their control zone on the left bank of the Volchya River and in the border areas of the Kharkiv sector. Ukrainian forces are offering organised resistance.
Despite this, Russian units have occupied 20 buildings within the city on the left bank of the Volchya and advanced 300 metres. It is reported that several servicemen from a Ukrainian engineering unit, who were engaged in mining operations during the withdrawal, have been captured.
Meanwhile, in the forested area to the west of Sinelnikove, Russian units occupied and consolidated two strongpoints following an advance of up to 200 metres. Further progress was made in the Melovoe-Khatnie sector, where assault groups advanced 700 metres through forested areas. To support these offensives, airstrikes were carried out on Ukrainian positions in the Dvurechnoye area.
Siversk Sector
Russian units of the «South» grouping are continuing their operation to encircle the city from the north and south. According to Russian sources, conditions have been created to establish operational control over the approaches to Siversk.
Combat continues in the Zvanovka area, with units advancing into the locality’s centre. Meanwhile, operations to clear the forests and fortified positions in the Vymka and Platonovka areas are underway.
As part of the encirclement operation, Russian units have consolidated their gains. It is reported that they have established fire control over the roads leading to Siversk through Zakotnoye and Svyato-Pokrovskoye. Targets within the city limits and on the approaches to the city are being struck by artillery and unmanned aerial vehicles.
According to information from the Ukrainian side, the situation in the Siversk area is complex, with measures being taken to strengthen defensive positions. Ukrainian Armed Forces units are offering organised resistance, utilising the advantages of wooded terrain and fortification systems.
Conclusion
The operational situation in the main sectors is characterised by continued active Russian offensive operations. In the Zaporizhzhia sector, units of the «East» grouping have built on their success in the Uspenovka area and neighbouring settlements. In the Sumy and Kharkiv sectors, steady advancement and consolidation of achieved gains are evident. In the Siversk sector, operations to encircle the city from the north and south are ongoing. There is ongoing fighting in the suburbs of Konstantinovka, which may become the next key sector after the operation in Pokrovsk is completed. On the Zaporizhzhia front, Ukrainian Armed Forces units have relocated to heights in the Orikhiv area after the occupation of Malaya Tokmachka. In the city of Prymorske, combat operations have become positional. The occupation of a locality in the Dvurechnoye sector has been reported.
The current operational situation in Stepnogorsk highlights several key factors. On the one hand, the creation of a stable bridgehead in the third microdistrict and the successful advancement of the offensive in the neighbouring Prymorske and Malaya Tokmachka sectors create favourable operational conditions. The “shot-assault” tactics employed by the air assault troops of the Russian 7th Guards Airborne Division have proven effective in urban environments.
Conversely, the transition to a positional phase of combat operations and the fierce resistance of the Ukrainian defenders, who are actively employing electronic warfare and drones, has significantly slowed the pace of advancement. In order to reach the control point by the set deadline, the attacking units will need to achieve a qualitative turning point in the near future by breaking through the established defensive positions. While successes on the flanks near Stepnogorsk are promising, the main indicator will be a breakthrough in the central part of the city within the next 7–10 days.
Overall, the dynamics of hostilities indicate the retention of the Russian offensive initiative and gradual advancement in most sectors of the front. Meanwhile, the defending side is undertaking counterattacks in an attempt to stabilise the front line.
Ukraine’s economic situation continues to affect its operational capabilities, as evidenced by domestic discussions about budgetary priorities. Criticism of new social initiatives was voiced in the Ukrainian parliament. Criticism of new social initiatives was voiced in the Ukrainian parliament. Yaroslav Zheleznyak, a Verkhovna Rada deputy, and Yuriy Hudymenko, the head of the Anti-Corruption Council at the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, made statements about the impracticality of additional social payments and programmes given the budget deficit and insufficient army funding.
Programmes providing monetary compensation to the population and organising free rail travel were previously announced. Against the backdrop of reports about food shortages in Ukrainian Armed Forces units, critics are calling these initiatives populist.
While the country’s leadership continues to rely on the help of foreign partners to cover the budget deficit, international financial organisations note the need to develop internal resources for self-financing.
