As SouthFront predicted on August 16 and even earlier, the Russian Navy has made cruise missile strikes on terrorist targets in Syria.
On August 19, the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) said that the Black Sea Fleet’s warships have launched three cruise missile strikes on al Nusra Front targets in Syria:
“Today, at 10:55 a.m., Zelyony Dol and Serpukhov small-sized missile ships of the Black Sea Fleet carried out three launches of sea-based Kalibr cruise missiles on al-Nusra Front targets in Syria from the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea during combat maneuvering,” the ministry said.

The strikes destroyed a terrorist command center and a base near the vilalge of Dar-Taaza, as well as a major plant producing mortar ammunition and a large arms depot in the Aleppo province.
“The transit corridor for the Kalibr cruise missiles from the Mediterranean Sea was planned over an unpopulated area to ensure the safety of civilians,” the Russian MoD said.

We remind on Monday, the Russian Navy launched artillery and missile drills in Mediterranean and Caspian waters. The drills involve six vessels armed with the “Kalibr-NK” cruise complexes with eight missiles each: Tatarstan, Dagestan, Grad Sviyazsk, Veliky Ustyug, Zeleny Dol, Serpukhov.
In 2015, the Russian Caspian Sea Fleet fired a total of 26 Kalibr missiles at ISIS positions in Syria, destroying 11 major terrorist targets.
I thought Al Nusra no longer exists? They’re going to be so angry that you’re not using their shiny new name “FATAH AL-SHAM”. They’re trying to create a new healthier wholesome image for their group of thugs and terrorists so that the people in the West won’t feel so bad while the US and Gulf States continue to arm and support them. Plus…Obama can now make a BIG announcement to the citizens of the US: “Al Qaeda are no longer in Syria”.
Imagine half way through the second world war the Nazi’s said “Stop everything – we’re changing our name to ‘LOVE-POWER’ because the previous name was giving us a bad image. I wonder if these terrorists even understand the irony that their new name is a ‘SHAM’.
