Kiev forces attacked on March 14 the Russian region of Belgorod with a dozen drones and a number of rockets, killing a civilian and wounding others.
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced in a morning statement that 11 Ukrainian suicide drones were shot down over Belgorod and three others over the neighboring region of Kursk. In two follow up statements, the ministry said that eight rockets and an additional drone were intercepted over Belgorod.
The region’s governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov, later announced that a civilian was killed and three others were wounded in the Ukrainian attack.
“According to preliminary information, the driver of a passenger car was killed in the attack. Also, two injured women and a man sought emergency medical assistance,” the governor wrote on his Telegram channel.
Two private homes as well as the roof and two upper floors of a health facility were damaged. “A passenger car was also damaged. Emergency services are working at the scene,” Gladkov added.
Videos posted to social media showed small fires and minor damage at a road and a number of residential buildings in Belgorod.
The drone and rocket attack on Belgorod came amid reports of a new intrusion attempt by Kiev forces. Ukrainian troops, backed by main battle tanks and infantry fighting vehicles, launched a new attack on the Spodariushino border post. The attack is reportedly being repelled by the Russian military and security forces.
The Kiev regime stepped up attacks on Russian territory in recent weeks in what appears to be an attempt to make up for its never ending failures on the battlefield.
Earlier this week, Kiev forces lost more than 200 troops and several pieces of military equipment in a desperate cross-border attack on Belgorod and Kursk.
