The Russian Ministry of Defense has refuted allegations that two Russian soldiers were taken prisoner in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor province, saying that all soldiers were accounted for, TASS reports.
“There have been no incidents linked with any capture of prisoners or entailing losses among Russian servicemen either in the province of Deir ez-Zor [Deir Ezzor] or in any other Syrian province,” the ministry said on October 3.
The mass media reported earlier that the ISIS-linked Amaq news agency had posted a video featuring two Russian soldiers that had been allegedly captured prisoner by ISIS.
The Amaq news agency had previously claimed ISIS killing one Russian soldier and taking two soldiers prisoner near Deir ez-Zor on September 28. The Russian Ministry of Defense had refuted those claims back then as well.
On September 24 Russian Lieutenant general Valeriy Asapov was killed during an ISIS bombardment near Deir ez-Zor. The Ministry of Defense reported on the fact the same day.

According to the Russian Spring, those two are volunteers, who came to Syria on their own to fight ISIS. One of them is member of Cossack unit.

On internet the one without the beard is being identified as a (at some time) russian soldier and a picture of him being inspected by Putin is available on the internet.

The twit cannot verify anything, one of the two “may” be cossack involved with Donbass events, not very definitive. I suppose cossacks do have beards and are on occasion involved with things Don.
First of all those twits are written by well known Russia hater (Ukro nazi) and thats simply a pile of BS.
PMC’s were acting in Syria much before the beginning of the Russian military involvement. Some of their members were even condemned for that in Russia (unresolved interference).
My information is that Russian Lieutenant general Valeriy Asapov was killed by a US MQ9 Reaper drone. However the official news about the cause has been down played to an ISIS mortar shell to prevent a direct military confrontation between Russia and the US. Another incident was the sinking of the Russian Typhoon class nuclear submarine the Kursk by the US in 2000. Even in that case Putin opted to tone down the truth even by sacrificing the crew of the Kursk who could have been saved but could have revealed the truth, to prevent direct war with the US. There are many other instances when the US for example decided to make target practice out of Russian rockets with GLONAS satellites while testing their ship borne THAAD missile complex. Even here Putin again averted direct conflict with the US by claiming that the failure to deliver the satellites into orbit was due to technical problems. Video footage posted on UTube clearly showed a missile strike one of the Russian rockets while in its booster phase. However in all of these cases above, apart from the latest incident, the US somehow suffered similar so called accidents after just a short while of those suffered by Russia.

Try not to be so lazy and do a little research. By now you would have seen the pictures of the 2 soldiers wearing Russian uniforms. Brave Russian soldiers defeated the Mongols, Turks, Poles, Napoleon & the Nazis. Instead of denying them, the Kremlin should have sent the Spetnaz to rescue them. Shame.
