“We would like to make Mr. Earnest to come back down to earth with a bang, and remind him that thanks to the tireless imitation of the fight of the US against the Islamic State, firstly, this terrorist group seized the north of Iraq and then almost swallowed the whole of Syria in front of the whole world,” Konashenkov said during a briefing.
In addition, the Major-General stressed that Russia has not still received an answer from the US side to the question “Why does the Jabhat Fateh al-Sham (previously known as the Al-Nusra Front or the Jabhat al-Nusra) terrorist group enjoy ‘the incredible favour, or rather, the direct patronage’ of Washington?”
Earlier, Konashenkov has laid the blame for the failure of the agreement on ceasefire in Syria on the US.
