According to the spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry, Igor Konashenkov, Russian and Syrian radars can prove the fact that Belgian fighter jets struck the Syrian village of Hassajek in Aleppo province.

Russian and Syrian radars are able to prove the fact that Belgian fighter jets struck the Syrian village of Hassajek, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
Details of the flight path of the Belgian Air Force fighter jets at the time of the deadly strike on a village, located near Aleppo in Syria, would be unveiled by the Russian Defense Ministry, spokesman for the Ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov said on October 20.
“Russia has effective air defense means to maintain round the clock monitoring of the air situation over almost entire Syria. Besides us, Syrian air defense systems that have been restored over the past year control the airspace. Not to be unfounded, today we will present information about the flight route and the actions of the Belgian Air Force and US Air Force aircraft in Syrian airspace on October 18,” Konashenkov said.
According to Konashenkov, Belgian Defense Minister Steven Vandeput either is specifically misleading the international community, or the country’s authorities are being deceived by the US and the Belgian Defense Ministry. The Russian Defense Ministry has promised to present detailed information about the operation of Belgian F-16s in the Syrian air to the Belgian government.
“Either Steven Vandeput is purposefully misleading the Belgian and the international community, or his subordinates jointly with their US colleagues are deceiving the authorities of the Kingdom of Belgium,” the spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry added.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the Belgian Air Force is an owner of the two fighter jets, took off from an airfield in Jordan.
“The aircraft that took off from Salti [Al-Azraq] airbase in Jordan have been immediately identified to be F-16, and their affiliation was established as that of the Belgian Air Force,” Konashenkov noted.
He also specified that the Belgian jets took off from Jordan at 01:34 am and entered the Syrian airspace at 02:37 am. As the ministry spokesman pointed out, the F-16s flew 80 km north-east of Raqqa at 03:10 am and then patrolled the vicinity of Azaz. At 03:55 am the Belgian F-16 fighter jets carried out an airstrike on the village and then left Syrian airspace at 07:25 am.
“At 03:55 am local time the jets carried out a strike on the Kurdish village of Hassajek in Aleppo province. As a result of the bombing, two houses were destroyed, six people killed and four wounded in various degrees of severity,” the spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry added. “I repeat one more time, these are facts based on data of means of objective control.”
Konashenkov stressed the fact that civilians are bombed by the US-led coalition.
“This is not the first time the US-led coalition carries out strikes on civilians, while completely denying being guilty for it,” he said. “Weddings, funerals, hospitals, police stations, convoys, and even Syrian troops who fight against Islamic State [IS] terrorists in Deir ez-Zor have been struck.”
The spokesman for the Ministry also noted that Russia was not notified by the US about the flight of the coalition’s fighter jets on October 18, when they bombed the village of Hassajek.
“During exchange of information to avoid air incidents, American colleagues usually inform us about planned flights over Syria. However, we have not received any notification about the Belgian jets’ flight on October 18,” Konashenkov said.
He also added that sorties in the area were not conducted by the Russian Aerospace Forces and the Syrian Air Force.
Local reports about the airstrike by the Belgian F-16s on positions of Kurds in Hassajek village had been received by the Russian centre for reconciliation of opposing sides in Syria. The Belgian Defense Minister has dismissed claims of responsibility, while neither Russian, nor Syrian fighter jets were in the area.

That was probably the strategy. What is a few more dead Syrians to the hundreds of thousands they have directly and indirectly killed already.
It seems that the jets were attacking civilians instead of the Syrian Army. The “red line” is an attack on the Syrian Army. NATO doesn’t have the balls to do that yet.
Until Syrian air space is controlled by the Syrian government – the sh*t show will continue – that or get infinitely worse (US full on attack) if that’s possible. At some point, Syria, with Russia’s help, is going to have to close their air space. US/NATO is going to sh*t a brick but it has to be done.
Perhaps they are trying to draw Russia into a conflict. Otherwise it appears that the Euros and US are intent on killing at many Syrians as possible.
Somehow the Belgian jet avoided the S300.
They were tracked from the point they entered Syrian airspace until they left. They did not bomb Syrian or Russian military assets. They are bunch of cowards, They simply murdered some Syrian civilians to try and create an incident.
They are trained like assholes, allways have been, i remember +- 50 years while serving in Belgian SF, during the big NATO manoeuvers in Germany, a squad had the enemy HQ installed above themself, as required the sended a CW message to their HQ who transmitted to NATO HQleader argued to give them timespace to escape the area in the direction of the wind( fall-out) The Nato commander decided to Nuke coz otherwise while doing escape the possibility excisted the squad could havetaken prisoner, tortured and transmitted what happened before! The Manoeuvers ende 3 days earlyer NO DEFRIEFING WAHS GIVEN TO THOSE BELGIAN Spacial Forces, but 1 week later they learned the facts, what leaded to dismantlement of the unit coz misuse of the SF unit , aswell by own Officers as those from NATO ! This could be an unraveling point for US coalition forces. To distinctly hit, strickly civilian targets, applies to the West’s own war crime mantra.
As other posters here have said, it is a game being played, it is cowardice and it is big time stupidity. I also see it as tacit to displaying that NATO et al, really cannot sucessfully engage the Russians. Pulling off this crap will reveberate very negatively on the world stage, with more and more of the ‘çontrolled’ just going off and doing their own thing, as the President of the Phillipines has done this week.
If the West cannot get out of this ‘we need to win here, regardless ….’ mindset, there are going to be some fingers lost by them and tons more innocent lives sacrificed. Pure sadness.
