On the night of March 18, Russian forces launched new wave of strikes o Ukrainian military facilities in the rear areas. Explosions thundered throughout the country. The attack lasted for more than seven hours. Geran-2 UAVs, ballistic and other missiles were used to destroy targets in almost all Ukrainian regions.
One of the Russian strikes targeted the Svetlovodsk oil depot located in the Kirovograd region. As a result of the Russian attack, a large fire broke out at the facility. Tanks with fuel were destroyed. The fire confirmed that the facility, which was not used for a long time, was restored and used by Ukrainian forces. The entreprise is an important part of the logistics system of diesel fuel supplies from Bulgaria for the Ukrainian military.
Another target of the Russian attack was an military-industrial facility in Lutsk in the Volyn region. At least one of Russian UAVs struck the Lutsk Motor Repair Plant, which was used for the production of aircraft engines and military equipment within for the Ukrainian military.
New wave of explosions thundered in the Khmelnitsky region. Russian drones reportedly struck the Starokonstantinov airfield located in the region.
A training ground used for training of Ukrainian servicemen by Western military instructors was reportedly struck in the Rivne region.
A series of explosions thundered in the Poltava region. The targets reportedly included Ukrainian air defense forces. One of Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile regiment divisions was transferred from Svetlodarsk to Kremenchug.
More strikes were reported in the eastern Sumy and Kharkiv regions, from where the Armed Forces of Ukraine are launching attacks on the Russian border settlements.
The resumption of Russian massive strikes throughout Ukraine and their devastating results confirm the lack of air defense means in Ukraine and the inability of Kiev to protect their strategically-important facilities. Meanwhile, more and more Ukrainian and NATO air defense systems are destroyed near the frontlines.
