Russian Forces Destroyed Two Missiles That Targeted Crimea

Illustrative Image

On February 25, the Ukrainian military and its NATO patrons attempted another attack on the Crimean peninsula.

On the evening, the local sources reported that air alert sounded in the western part of the peninsula after Ukrainian aircraft had launched Storm Shadow (SCALP-EG) missiles towards Crimea. The Russian military used smoke screen to protect the Sevastopol bay. Russian air defense forces were active in the city.

Soon after the attack ended, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that two aircraft guided missiles were destroyed in the Black Sea. The Ministry noted that the attack was carried out around 19:00 Moscow time.

The local sources have not reported any damage in Crimea so far.

The missile attack was launched after several Ukrainian drones targeted the peninsula on the night of February. According to the official report by the Ministry of Defense, four UAVs were destroyed in the Black Sea.

This is the usual tactics used by the AFU. First, the cheap UAVs discover the areas of deployment of Russian air defense systems. Soon after the drone strikes, the AFU launch precious NATO missiles in an attempt to reach the targets on the peninsula; but it seems that the Russian military has learned to successfully repel all Ukrainian strikes on Crimea. Most of Ukrainian attempts to attack the peninsula failed.

It should not be excluded that the AFU and NATO will try to launch new attacks in the Black Sea in the coming days.
