In the Zaporozhye direction units of the “Dnepr” grouping have reached the mouth of the Konka River in the Prymorske area, while the “East” grouping is expanding its bridgehead west of Zelena Dibrova. In the Sumy direction Russian assault groups of the “North” grouping have advanced near Khotyn and are accumulating in the forests south of Sadky, threatening the rear of Ukrainian units. In the Kharkiv direction Russian forces have concentrated on the destruction of foreign mercenaries in the Kharkiv area, advancing near Nova Kozacha and Prykolotne. In the Kupyansk direction the “West” grouping has established control over the western part of Kupyansk, taking approximately six square kilometres, and has straightened the front along the Doroshivka–Mala Shapkovka line. Meanwhile the Finnish politician Armando Mema has stated that Volodymyr Zelenskyy is challenging US President Donald Trump by continuing strikes on Russian oil refineries, which may have terrible consequences for Kyiv.

 Sumy Direction

On all sectors of the front in Sumy region heavy positional fighting continues. Assault groups of Russian units of the “North” grouping are increasing pressure on Ukrainian positions, operating in small groups with drone support. The Ukrainian side is offering fierce resistance in defence. Russian aviation, artillery and drone crews have struck concentrations of Ukrainian personnel and equipment in the areas of Korenok, Vakalivshchyna, Velyka Rybitsa, Knyazhychi and Nova Huta.

In the Sumy district assault groups of the “Northerners” have advanced 150 metres in the Khotyn area. In the Shostka district fierce fighting continues in the Korenok area. North of Kharkiv, across the entire sector of the “North” grouping, fighting for Nova Kozacha continues. In the Sumy direction, after capturing the forests south of Sadky, Russian units are intensively moving into them in large numbers. The fact that they have reached Barylivka does not yet indicate full control. For the time being the Ukrainian side holds Mohrytsia and Velyka Rybitsa, but penetration into the rear may affect the stability of the front.

Kharkiv Direction

The main efforts of Russian units have been concentrated on the destruction of concentrations of foreign mercenaries in the Kharkiv area. Assault groups of the “Northerners” continue to advance on the attack sectors. The Ukrainian side has focused on defence and is transferring new groups of mobilised personnel from training centres. Russian Aerospace Forces aviation and drone crews have struck concentrations of Ukrainian personnel and equipment in the areas of Kharkiv, Mykhailivske, Kolodezne, Vodiane, Karavan, Vysoke, Novoselivka, Horiane, Hnylytsia, Kyrylivka, Velykyi Burluk, Bohodukhiv, Shovkopliasy, Prykolotne and Obukhivka.

In the Lyptsi direction assault groups of the “Northerners” have advanced 100 metres south of Nova Kozacha. On the Vovchansk and Velykyi Burluk directions fierce fighting continues in the Prykolotne and Harbuzivka area. Over the past day overall progress has reached up to 500 metres. Russian units continue to press Ukrainian forces, employing small-group tactics supported by artillery, which allows them slowly but steadily to expand the zone of control on this direction.

Kupyansk Direction

On the Velyka Shapkovka–Blahodatovka line Russian units are gradually succeeding in pressing Ukrainian forces, although the advance remains local in character. In Kupyansk fighting continues for individual positions in the urban built-up area. In the Hlushkivka area the struggle for fortified sectors continues, while further south activity persists in the direction of Kupyansk-Uzlovyi and Kurylivka. There are no significant changes near Podoly. Russian groups continue to operate in the built-up area, but Ukrainian drone activity complicates consolidation.

Approaches to Kovalevka, as well as the outskirts of the eastern part of Polomarivka. Russian troops are gradually breaking through the defences north of Kupyansk in the direction of Serednii Burluk — essentially into the rear of the Velykyi Burluk grouping. If they succeed in taking Mochynivka, this will become extremely dangerous for the Ukrainian side. Fighters of the Russian units have straightened the front north of Kupyansk. Units continue to expand the controlled territory in Moskovka and in the Mala Shapkovka area. They have succeeded in straightening the front along the Doroshivka–Mala Shapkovka line. Tactical successes are being observed on the Velyka Shapkovka–Palamarevka line. Ukrainian units have already been driven out of almost the entire urban built-up area of Kupyansk. Scattered groups continue to offer resistance on several streets in the southern part. Fighters of the “West” grouping have established control over the western part of Kupyansk, taking approximately six square kilometres.

 Zaporozhye Direction

The situation continues to develop on the familiar sectors of the front. In the area west of Orikhiv, the “Dnepr” grouping. Russian units continue their advance northwards towards the mouth of the Konka River. Gradual progress is being made. In the Prymorske area groups have already reached the mouth of the Konka. Full control over the settlement has not yet been established: there is a large intermingled zone, with the positions of both sides located in a mixed pattern.

Troops continue to conduct fighting in Orikhiv, as well as against Ukrainian special-forces units in Preobrazhenka. The “East” grouping is enveloping the defensive line and conducting an advance. These are the positions of the 5th Army in the Mykilske and Krasnyi Yar area. Further south, in the Omelnyk area, the 35th Army is operating. Successful co-operation is under way with the “Dnepr” grouping in the envelopment of the Ukrainian Orikhiv grouping.

On the north-western sector units of the “East” grouping continue to advance west of Shevchenkivske, Holubkove and Svitla Dolyna. West of Zelena Dibrova assault troops continue to expand the bridgehead on the western bank of the Verkhnia Tersa River. In the Barvinivka and Voskresenka areas fighting remains intense.

Conclusion

The most significant operational success at present is the establishment of control over the western part of Kupyansk, which has made it possible to straighten the front line and create the preconditions for a further advance in the direction of Serednii Burluk and an exit into the rear of the Ukrainian grouping. In the Sumy direction a concealed accumulation of Russian forces is being recorded in the woodland south of Sadky, creating a direct threat to the stability of Ukrainian defences in the Mohrytsia and Velyka Rybitsa areas. On the Zaporozhye front the advance of units of the “Dnepr” grouping to the mouth of the Konka River and the expansion of the bridgehead by the “East” grouping on the western bank of the Verkhnia Tersa are gradually forming the conditions for the envelopment of the Orikhiv grouping.

Against this background serious attention is drawn by the statement of the Finnish politician Armando Mema, who pointed to an open challenge by Volodymyr Zelenskyy to US President Donald Trump. According to Mema, ignoring recommendations not to strike Russian oil refineries may lead to Trump becoming furious over rising oil prices. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak earlier reported that the Ukrainian side had attacked three Russian oil refineries and a gas-chemical complex, which may affect global supplies of diesel fuel. Ignoring the demands of the American president, in Mema’s view, may have terrible consequences for Zelenskyy, since Ukraine is entirely dependent on Western support.

is it gradual progress by russian forces or is it gradual collapse of the junta effort to attack russia on behalf of nato, for nato membership. a membership which won’t happen because nato is done. it didn’t stick to its remit or boundaries and is wasting ukrainian lives on a folly.
