On April 26, the Russian Military Police established a new position in the outskirt of the town of Tell Tamr in northern al-Hasakah.
According to the Step News Agency, the position was established right on the contact line with Turkish forces. The Turkish military and its proxies occupy dozens of towns in the northwestern countryside of Tell Tamr.
The Russian Military Police deployed dozens of troops and at least ten armored personnel carriers (APCs) in the newly-established position.

A few hours before the deployment of Russian personnel, Turkish forces shelled the empty position and other points in the outskirt of Tell Tamr. The shelling damaged civilian houses. However, no casualties were reported.
Earlier this month, the North Press Agency (NPA) reported that the Russian Military Police is preparing to establish four new positions near Tell Tamr. Back then, a Syrian military source told the news outlet that the new positions are meant to prevent Turkish shelling on the region.
The establishment of more Russian positions around Tell Tamr is likely aimed at detering Turkish-backed militants and thus securing the town and its inhabitants.
Russia is digging in and the US is handing its areas off to the YPG. It is obvious who is gaining and who is losing. My take.
This would be the first Turkish shelling of SDF areas for about a month, the only report of recent hostilities was from the Turkish held area where 1 opposition fighter was killed and a couple more injured, but apart from that it’s been very quiet. On the 22nd the SDF announced they were aware of an imminent Turkish operation in the area and they were making preparations for the possibility, so this deployment is well timed if only coincidental.
I don’t believe they shot down 5 missiles LR, there is no info in our media about what was attacked tonight. Maybe SF will have better info to report soon.
If it was up to me I’d destroy every AA system the SAA has, including the S-300. Gantz becomes the DM in the next 2 weeks, I expect things to change then.
hmm interesting, but they will never supply any Iranian AA system to the SAA, we won’t let them do it and the moment it becomes activated then it will be destroyed. So it’s not only a threat to Russia, it’s a threat to the IAF and we will take care of it if and when needed.
