On October 29, Russian forces resumed active offensive operations towards the town of Ugledar in the western part of the Donetsk People’s Republic. The advancing forces have already engaged pro-Kiev troops around the village of Pavlovka (Pavlivka) and southeast of Ugledar itself.
Russian Ka-52 attack helicopters, Su-25 and Su-34 warplanes were reportedly involved to support the advance. Russian artillery, including Solntsepek systems (multiple rocket launcher capable of using thermobaric warheads), was also involved.
Russian troops reportedly broke through the first line of the defense of the Kiev regime in this sector and are developing the offensive. It should be noted that the village of Pavlovka is an important point by itself because it is a local logistical hub.
Reports claim that the Kiev regime is deploying reinforcements with military equipment to the area in an attempt to repel the Russian advance.

At the same time, pro-Kiev forces increased their activity around Kremennaya and Svatovo in an attempt to draw attention of the Russian military command from the advance towards Ugledar. However, according to pro-Russian sources, the Kiev side achieved no successes there.
Thus, there are at least two directions on which Russian forces are currently conducting the offensive operations. The first is Bahmut and Opitnoe north of Gorlovka and the second is Ugledar. Both of them are in the region of Donbass. At the same time, the Russian forces in the southern sector (Kherson and Zaporozhie) are mostly focused on active defense.
The increase of sections of the frontline on which the Russians carry out offensive operations may indicate that Moscow has decided that time to regain the initiative on the battleground has come.
I can’t see to see more advancements of Russian forces and its allies to retake whole parts of Donbas.
