In Ukraine, the situation on the front lines remains tense. Hostilities continue along the entire length of the contact lines.
In the Kharkiv region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) control the Prudyanka — Pitomnik — Rubezhnoye front line.
The AFU attempt to advance in the direction of Lipetsk and Cossack Lopan, aiming at reaching the Russian border. The AFU also continue attempts to cross the Seversky Donets river in the Chepil area.
Ukrainian forces are advancing from Old Saltov in the direction of the village of Ternovaya, where the battles continue. According to some reports, the village is already under the control of the AFU.
In the area of Izyum, clashes were reported in the area of Kurulka and Pashkovo, as well as in Velika Kamyshevakha. Fighting continues near the town of Lyman.

Russian forces in the area of Zmeiny Island are preparing for another attack by Ukrainian forces. The AFU is regrouping and transferring helicopters and S-300 complexes to the coastal areas. On May 12, the island was targeted by Ukrainian Tochka U missiles, but they were intercepted by Russian air defense systems.
Russian cruise missiles struck military targets in the Mykolaiv, Kherson, Poltava, Kharkiv, Chernihiv and Zaporizhia regions. The Kremenchug refinery in the Poltava region was hit once again.

If Russia achieve this, Ukraine will be landocked and Black Sea secured by Russia. War would be over with a great win to Russia.
Strategy 2. Russia will try to take the Center of Ukraine and take most of the south east of the Dniper River. If war end like this would be a partially win to Russia and will secure half of the Black Sea Area. Ukraine can retaliate later in the next future with another war to retake the territory losed on this Special Ops.
Strategy 3. Russia would retreat after taking Lugansk and Donensk saying had achieved all the goals. This will be a partial match between Russia and Ukraine, but Russia will lose in the end, because USA and the West would think they won and that Russia is weak and go full berserk mode against Russia trying to remove Putin’s Goverment and install a puppet goverment ‘democratic and liberal’ and export all Rusia wealth and resources to the west.
Both contenders have to choose their path in this war and we will have to wait and see how it ends. Ukraine (and USA UK and puppets) vs Russia
Timing is everything in the end game. Putin does not want to wait until a time when UA is ascendant. Psyops are his strong point. In this case he needs to weaken the western alliance and disillusion the Ukies as to their friends.
He should declare a cease fire and offer a permanent peace. He should offer to end all hostilities and enter a stable and lasting peace if the Luhansk and Donetsk and Crimea are recognized as Russian and Ukraine is never allowed into NATO. This would be a huge win for Russia.
In the meantime while the terms are being considered and debated a much needed rest and resupply can occur for his troops. The debate in the west would be very devisive.
Alternatively the Russians can continue singing polyuska polya, and bleed all over the wheat fields and forests of the Ukraine, perhaps all the way to Moldova, or perhaps all the way to Belgorad.

As a westerner supporting the russian cause in this war, I think would be a good idea to have russian military professionals with inside knowledge on the operations going on contributing to this debate. The Russians have fought this war with kids gloves, instead try fighting a war of annihilation. They should have bombed Kiev into the stone age, now you have a Ukraine military armed with NATO weapons. BRAVO ( slow clap)
