On April 24 evening, Russian forces repelled an attack by armed drones on their Hmeimim airbase in the Syrian province of Latakia, according to local sources.
According to the reports, Russian Pantsir-S1 air defense systems shot down two drones armed with projectiles before they were able to attack the base. The drones had been launched by one of militant groups operating in northern Latakia or southern Idlib.
Some sources added that the airbase had also come under rocket attack. However, these rocket were also intercepted.
The repeated attacks on the Russian military facilities show that militant groups operating in Syria have no more capabilities to oppose the Syrian Arab Army, backed by Russia and Iran, and their key current goal is to gain media effect in desperate attempts to receive additional funds and support from their foreign sponsors. For example, such media effect could be achieved if militants succeed in delivering damage to the Russian airbase and aircraft deployed there.

I do not believe in prophecies, but there are those who have a good grasp of events to predict the future based on facts and educated assumptions.

I assume that when the first NATO country will be attacked and the alliance will not react, NATO will become obsolete. Any response in NATO has to be unanimous, and I don’t see Turkey defending Greece and viceversa.

Greece had never ever been an economic/commercial or military power. Geopolitics and geoeconomics don’t favor Greece. Was Greece not sold by the West with the capture of Constantinople? Greece means both the West and Russia. Neither the West nor Russia would sacrifice Greece. A kind of “Entente Cordiale” would be reached between Russia and the West over Greece at the expense of Turkey. Turkey can save its skin by siding with Russia and lessening its stance against Greece. Russia is well placed to sort out the long standing antagonism between Greece and Turkey. Russia has a super advantage over the West/NATO on this issue as it has culturally link with both countries.
