Russian forces had foiled more attempts by Kiev forces to infiltrate the territory of Russia in the regions of Belgorod and Kursk, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on March 16.
In its daily briefing, the ministry said that Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups attempted to infiltrate from the settlement of Popovka in the Ukrainian region of Sumy into Kursk and in the direction of the settlements of Spodoryushino and Kozinka in Belgorde. However, their attempts were foiled.
Kiev forces lost 30 troops, three tanks, two armored fighting vehicles and two multiple rocket launchers, a Soviet-made Grade and a Czech-made RM-70, during the failed infiltration attempts, according to the ministry.
The ministry also released a video showing how Ukrainian troops were tracked and eliminated along the Russian border. Some of the footage in the video were seen before.
In addition to the failed infiltration attempt, Kiev forces carried out a series of drone, rocket and missile strikes against Belgorod on March 16.
Russian air defenses in the region intercepted ten Ukrainian suicide drones, eight RM-70 rockets and a Soviet-made Tochka-U tactical ballistic missile over Belgorod. Still, two civilians, a man and a woman, were killed and at least three others, including a child, were wounded.
The Kiev regime has been launching strikes against Belgorod and Kursk on a daily basis for over a week and since March 12 its forces have been attempting to infiltrate the two regions.
The aim of Ukraine’s repeated attacks on Russian territory appears to be to terrorize civilians there and to disturb the presidential election.
So far, hundreds of Ukrainian troops have been killed in these infiltration attempts. Dozens of pieces of military equipment, including Western-made infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers and self-propelled howitzers, were also destroyed.
