Russian forces have shot down 17 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the past three months, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said at the Moscow Conference on Global Security on April 4.

According to Shoigu, the downed UAVs have had the range of 100km and have been capable of carry weapons. The defense minister noted that the creation of such UAVs is not possible without assistance from technologically advanced countries.

“Their creation is impossible without technical assistance of developed countries. In the course of the past three months, we have destroyed 17 such devices,” Shoigu said

The usage of such UAVs in heavily populated area may have a catastrophic impact, Shoigu added. ISIS already uses various UAVs and militants from Syria and Iraq are moving to other countries around the world, he pointed.

This idiot thinks he’s mimicking Russian trolls https://www.rt.com/usa/423118-nimmo-trolls-atlantic-council/

Would Trumpf missile been used or Panister?

Tudor Miron

Pantsir S. Russia is not THAT wealthy as Israel to shoot birds with patriots.

Samuel Boas

Not that wealthy? That makes no sense. The S-400 system is far fatter than the patriot system. Why do you think no country nowadays buys the patriot system anymore, many many countries switch to the superior S-400 system.

testera

He is saying that it is not a good long term strategy to fire $1,000,000 missiles at $1,000 targets.

Rob

Well done. Excellent job.

Nigel Maund

There is a need to shoot down the high value “Predator” and “Reaper” drones of the USAF and IAF plus other assorted drones from ISIS and other CIA Terrorist Proxies.

Merijn

Russia whenever there pop up some ISIS Headchoppers anywhere in the World. Your Wisdom & Capability to Destroy them is Greatly Appreciated…Thanks a lot

lancelotlink

My sentiments also. Thank you Russia, and also thank you for defeating the Nazis, at a great sacrifice to you, of course, but only you could have done this. I’m sure I can speak for everybody except the US war hawks and pentagon: we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It is obvious that we are still depending on you to save our asses from US aggression and the AngloZionist hawks.

Supporting Jihadis is like using bio weapons. You cannot control such wildly dangerous weaponry and not have it come back into your face, like a boomerang.

Eskandar Black

I wonder what is the command and control mechanism for such vehicles, if various components could be traced. The is technical knowledge at play here, and those people could be killed off. Another alternative is to start supplying unstable Russian proxies with advanced weaponry like suicide drones to carry out attacks and harass unfriendly forces.

Richard M

You’d have to be able to reach Langley, Ankara, Riyadh and Tel Aviv to do it.

testera

Once the technology goes out in public, it is not possible to control who uses it and against whom. It is possible to program a drone for a long distance strike using only commercially available electronics. In the least complex scenario, no long range communication with drone is required. Cheap GPS have enough accuracy to hit a big target like airport and fly back. Processing power required to do that is very low. Having two way communication with drone at 100km is more challenging thing to implement, and I have not found any details about that. Do they have it at all? Are Russian using it to detect drone attacks?

Starlight

Building such a drone is EASY- designing such a long range drone extremely HARD indeed. But once the plans are out there, these damned devices will continue to threaten innocent people across the planet forever onwards.

This is why the jewish, british and Saudi support of the Syrian terrorists is so completely demonic.

Richard M

An economical way of downing these OrcDrones needs to be found. Using $100,000 missiles to drop $1,500 drones is not viable long term.

testera

30mm ammo is cheap, and Gvozd is on the way. http://www.businessinsider.com/pantsir-s1-makes-russian-air-defenses-stronger-2018-2

Richard M

Impressive!
