Russia is preparing to the upcoming presidential elections, while Kiev and NATO are preparing provocations to thwart them. In its turn, the Ukrainian military attempts to attack Russian border regions. While the Russian air defense forces are repelling massive drone strikes, Ukrainian special services attempted to launch a ground operation and cross the Russian border.
On March 11, Russian military sources reported that another Ukrainian ground operation was thwarted in the border Belgorod region. The operation was prepared by the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) and the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an attempt to terrorise the local Russia population and gain the headlines in media with ‘a victory of the Ukrainian military’ amid the upcoming elections in Russia.
Large forces were accumulated near the border preparing to attack the Grayvoron district in the Belgorod region. The Ukrainian grouping was spotted in the area near the border between the Ukrainian Kharkiv and Sumy region.
The attack should be launched by the Artan special unit of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. The unit was armed with armored vehicles, artillery and tanks.
The accumulation of large Ukrainian forces near the border was timely spotted by the Russian military. Russian servicemen waited until the Ukrainian begin forming the ranks. Heavy bombs, Iskander missiles and Lancet UAVs immediately attacked the grouping. As a result, at least 5 tanks, 3 self-propelled guns, 1 MLRS, several pickups and infantry fighting vehicles were destroyed. The Ukrainian military reportedly lost about 70 servicemen of the special operation forces.
This supposed to be a large operation which should be largely promoted by Kiev’s sources, and gain the headlines in international MSM; but the Ukrainian military suffered another defeat and no MSM will cover the incident, hiding Ukrainian losses.
