Russian Forces To Establish Forward Position Near Turkish-Occupied Ras Al-Ayn In Northeast Syria

On June 13, a unit of the Russian Military Police scouted the frontline separating Kurdish forces from the Turkish-occupied town of Ras al-Ayn, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).

The UK-based monitoring group added that the unit inspected an area west of Asadiyah, where a new Russian position will be established soon.

“The Russian patrol aims to explore the region and clear mines, in preparation for the establishment of an advanced military position near the frontline between the influence areas of Turkish forces and the factions loyal to them on the one hand, and the Syrian Democratic Forces [SDF] on the other,” the SOHR’s report reads.

This was reportedly the first time ever Russian forces reach this highly-sensitive area around Ras al-Ayn on the Turkish border.

The Russian Military Police established a number of new positions in northern al-Hasakah Syria in the last few months. A position was established near the village of Qasr Deep, which’s located in the countryside of the town of al-Malikiyah, ten days ago.

These new positons are likely meant to implement the Russian-Turkish agreement on northeast Syria that was reached last year. Under the agreement, SDF units should be pushed around 30 km away from Turkey’s border.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

All those stories about the US hindering Russian convoys were correct but not accurate, the real opposition to the convoys wasn’t shown in the videos that SF provided, otherwise you’d have seen the Kurdish locals in the videos as well as the US forces, and they would’ve all been chanting, “the Russians are letting the Turks in”, that’s why the Russians are being hindered. Qasr Deep is where some of the protests have been taking place but there’s another village called Kasan very close by that’s also resisting the Russian’s attempts to set up another base, so I have a funny feeling this will backfire on Russia if they’re not careful, they better not let the Turks try to move personnel into their new bases because if they do all hell will break loose.

Nod

“all hell will break loose.”

maybe a lesson is in order.

It serves the Russians right for allowing the Turks into Syria anyway. Why bomb their convoys ,shoot them up,blow them up ,embarrass Erdogan by exposing his oil looting if you are going to let those Turks in! The Russians should have struck whilst the iron was hot ,straight after murder of the RU ambassador in Ankara! Burn every Turk and Turcoalphabet in Syria. Period

Assad must stay

Putin is too in love with erdogan right now, lets hope and pray that love affairs comes crashing and burning down, and fast

Assad must stay

Russia please if you are going to let torkis stay in syria AT LEAST DONT LET THEM KEEP EXPANDING!!! build bases in front of them to stop their expansion!
