After Russian forces took control of the industrial area in the south of Avdeevka, they managed to complete the mop up operation and expand the zone of their control.
According to preliminary reports from the front, the district of Vinogradniki came under the full Russian control. This is the district located to the south of the industrial area. After Russian victory in the industrial area, defense in Vinogradniki was senseless. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) retreated and are currently reinforcing their positions, preparing for defense in the residential areas in Avdeevka.
On the northern flank, the AFU gathered reserves and rushed into a counterattack in Stepovoe. They were repelled, but as a result, Russian forces failed to gain a foothold in the village. Clashes continue near Stepovoe and west of Krasnogorovka.
Russians continue attacks on the outskirts of the Coke and Chemical Plant, where the AFU are pounded by fire, hiding in the basements of the plant.
On the southern flank, Russian troops are trying to approach Severnoe from Vodianoe, but Ukrainian fire does not allow them to expand the zone of control. Meanwhile, Russian artillery and aircraft are pounding the AFU in the southern district of Khimic.
Ukrainian media write that the military considers the defense of Avdeevka meaningless, but Zelensky allegedly demands to continue fighting at any cost.

this is where most of the artillery strikes on donetsk have come from since the beginning and is one of the most fortified ukrainian positions in ukraine. it is near that airport that saw a massive battle earlier in th ewar between ukraine and the donbass. hopefuly when russian and the donbass militias finally capture the city the attacks on donetsk will drastically reduce.
