Russian forces have taken control of the former US military outpost in the town of Tell Samin in the Syrian province of Raqqah, according to a video released by Zvezda TV channel on December 26. The video shows deployment of Russian troops accompanied by armoured and supply vehicles as well as engineering works in the area. The entire factiliy is also checked by combat engineers.
The symbolic part of Russian troops taking over and replacing US troops garrison’s and outposts in Syria, is more important than factual.
It is also good that the symbolism is being captured on video and publicized to the world.
