Russian Foreign Minister Meets Trump and Pompeo, Stirs MSM Hysteria

On December 10^th, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov visited the US and met with US President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Lavrov and Pompeo gave a press conference, in which the Secretary of State said that Washington would not tolerate any more election meddling and that it was “clear” what happened in 2016.

“On the question of interference in our domestic affairs, I was clear: It’s unacceptable and I made our expectations of Russia clear,” Pompeo said. “The Trump administration will always work to protect the integrity of our elections, period.”

Pompeo added, “Should Russia or any foreign actor take steps to undermine our democratic processes, we will take action in response,” though he wasn’t specific about the potential ramifications.

Lavrov demanded more evidence that Russia meddled in the 2016 presidential election.

“No one has given us this proof, because it doesn’t exist,” he said.

Lavrov said the U.S. allegations of Russian interference were baseless, and demanded more documents, to which one Washington Post reporter asked:

“Why not just read the Mueller report, it’s very detailed when it comes to U.S. allegations related to meddling in the 2016 election?”

Pompeo said that more evidence wasn’t needed and what was provided was enough.

“We think we’ve shared plenty of facts to show what happened in the 2016 election with our Russian counterparts. We don’t think there’s any mistake about what really transpired there,” he said.

Pompeo called U.S.-Russia ties “complicated,” but said the U.S. has been working to improve that relationship during the Trump administration. According to him, they also discussed the importance of Ukrainian sovereignty.

Lavrov mentioned Paul Whelan, saying that Russia was abiding by its own laws, and that Whelan made “all sorts of arrogant accusations.”

Following his meeting with Pompeo, Lavrov met with the US President. Following the meeting, Trump tweeted that he had a very good meeting with the Russian Foreign Minister and that they discussed “trade, Iran, North Korea, INF Treaty, Nuclear Arms Control, and Election Meddling.”

“President Trump warned against any Russian attempts to interfere in United States elections and urged Russia to resolve the conflict with Ukraine,” the White House said in a statement, following the meeting.

Lavrov further pushed on the Russian hysteria in MSM and said that a diplomatic visit would mean that the White House had been “compromised.”

One of the headliners of the impeachment proceedings against Donald Trump – Rep. Adam Schiff said that the meeting was “a success for Russian propaganda.”

Trump is meeting with Russia’s Foreign Minister in the Oval Office — again.

Adversaries invited in. Allies locked out.

Last time, they laughed about Trump’s firing of Comey. Today, they can celebrate the success of Russian propaganda.

“There was no press at our meeting, American or Russian. If Schiff can describe the ministerial-level contacts normal to any country and my meeting with the president in such a way, then I believe that they will soon accuse our diplomats, just as they have our athletes, of doping and call for criminal punishment,” Lavrov said.

Lavrov, furthermore, said that despite US sanctions, trade between Russia and the US was growing under the Trump administration.

“Regardless of the sanctions – which obviously hurt everyone – the trade between our two countries has grown during the Trump presidency from $20 billion, to which it was reduced under President Obama, to $27 billion this year,” Lavrov said.

The last time Lavrov visited the White House, approximately 2 and a half years ago in May 2017, there was an MSM storm over Trump allegedly leaking classified information to him and the Russian Ambassador to the US.

When he answered questions, following the December 10^th meeting, Lavrov was asked if Trump disclosed any other secrets.

“I can only find that out based on what you report,” Lavrov replied. “We talked about what I openly and literally told you. If you find some secrets there, feel free to make that sensational.”

The meeting between Lavrov and Trump took place on the day when two of the articles of impeachment were revealed. Naturally, in the MSM narrative, the “Russian overlords” visited their puppet to coordinate some sort of actions to counter the articles, so that Trump could remain in power and follow “Russia’s agenda.”
