Russian Gains In Donbass Leave No Hope For Ukrainian Grouping In Severodonetsk

PAYPAL, WESTERN UNION etc: write to info@southfront.org , southfront@list.ru

In recent days, the situation has changed on many fronts in Ukraine. Russian forces, together with the units of the DPR and LPR, achieved several victories in the Donbass, while they were forced to into a tactical retreat withdrawing from some settlements in the Kharkiv region and from the island of Zmeiny.

In the Luhansk People’s Republic, fighting continues in the Severodonetsk — Lisichansk region.

After the town of Rubezhnoye came under LPR control, the village of Voevodovka was completely mopped up of Ukrainian forces despite several attempts by the AFU to counterattack.

The shelling of the cities of Severodonetsk and Lisichansk continues. All the villages on the eastern outskirts are under control of the LPR. Clashes continue to the south-east of Severodonetsk.

The LPR ambassador to Russia reported that a whole brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine withdrew from Lisichansk, leaving their positions after some clashes.

Russian-led forces moped up and took full control of the town of Popasnaya. At the same time, the units of the LPR People’s Militia claimed full control over the village of Nizhny.

The recent gains pawed the way for Russian assault to Lisichansk from the south. Fierce clashes continue in Privolye, Shepilovo and Belogorovka.

Attempts by the AFU to counterattack continue in the area of Izyum. Ukrainian forces set fire to the forests near Izyum, hindering the advance of Russian troops.

In the area of Liman, fierce fighting continues near the village of Dibrovo. Attempts to force the Severny Donets River by Ukrainian units do not stop. Pontoon crossings are regularly shelled by Russian artillery and missiles.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to strengthen their positions in Kramatorsk, equipping firing positions in civilian facilities, schools and hospitals.

In the Donetsk People’s Republic, units of the People’s Militia, with the fire support from the Russian Armed Forces, established full control over the villages of Komsomolsky and Lesnoy in the Volnovakha region.

In the direction of the village of New York, after the recent advance in the Verkhnetoretskoye-Troitskoye area, Russian forces moved from Novobakhmutovka in the direction of Rozovka. Novoselovka remains under the AFU control, while the DPR forces took the outskirts.

Near Kharkiv, the AFU continues to press Russian forces along the Murom River. In the area of the city there are battles for small settlements. On May 9, no significant advance of troops from either side was reported.

In recent days, Ukrainian forces attempted to counter attack Russian Forces deployed on the Snake island but failed to land and establish the foothold, suffering significant material losses. At the same time, the Russian military was forced to leave the island.

Yes, they’ve decided to enlist all prisoners over 75 now and the Brits will train them for rapid infantry advance tactics.

mistiick

Yes, it’s done by warlocks and necromancers. Small chance to ressurect as “ghost of kiev”, too.

jens holm

Yes. According to my knowledge its a part of the Russian spirit to. When they were attacked from mongols and others from eats, the farmers knew they all would be killed.

By that all defended themself hoping at least some would stay alive.

Berlin 1945 was a kind of that too. It was a sixth wawe, which actually took away many enemies.

Thats my reflexion. I have no patent.

Nato + Eu + Uk + Au + Ca + (the rest of the US puppies ) fighting against Russia and getting nowhere glamorous whereas Russia is progressing slowly establishing a new country for the etnic russians in part of Ukraine which will incidentally will leave the new the rump Ukraine as a land locked country in the same league as Moldavia.

I think you are jelous and angry. 😊

BoJo: The HMS Kyiv is sinking! Man the life boats!

Rump Ukraine? Hmmm. Once upon a time it might have been served with a side of Porkshanks.

BoJo: The HMS Kyiv is sinking! Man the life boats!

Ah, good old Porkshanks. “Their children will huddle in basements while ours will study and play in schoolyards. And THAT’S how we’ll win this war!”

How’s that working out for you, Porky? Still having fun?

Sid Hartha from Brooklyn

I went to the Eastern European food market the other day and picked up a box of those funky Roshen chocolates. On the back it had EXP Date: 2/28/2022.

Talk about Karma.

jens holm

If You keep Your mouth shut it will

Sid Hartha from Brooklyn

I didn’t understand that at all. Can you please speak English and leave the gibberish to training Ukie conscripts?

Porkshanks is too difficult, call him don Pedro as he was called by Borrell. Serbs, poles and other slavs will understand this game of words.

Oy!

Once in the EEC or EU landlocked means nothing. Austria is landlocked, Switzerland is landlocked. Temporary Russia gain with controls of the coast means forever poor and forever hated. All those peoples republics will beg Europe to save them from Russia in a decade…

stephan williams

In a decade there will be no unelected EU “parliament” to worry about. It is a failing institution controlled by sociopaths. It isn’t remotely sustainable.

But Russia will still be here…

Why are all Russian military defeats always “tactical retreats”? What is this double talking of SF all about?

Retard comment

Herpy

it’s true, the retreat at Kharkov is very disappointing considering how important and close to Russia the city is and how much blood was already spilled for its capture.

jens holm

I have the same oppinion. The Ukras really need this no matter they have lost a lot too.

I sometimes wonder if Russians and Ukranians use the many WW2 battles for Kharkov a Belgograd & Donetsk as models for something there.

Its the same terrain.

Dave

Yours is. Elgar has a fair point. I‘d like to know why Russian forces retreated. SF is about war info. „They had to retreat“ is a bit thin.

Goff

They retreated from snake island because the island is within range of the new American artillery that just arrived in Odessa. Even though Russia pulled troops from the island Ukraine can’t capture it. The island is in a grey zone now. All that matters is the liberation of the Donbas. The pullback from Kharkiv was to pull Ukrainian forces closer to heavy Russian artillery. Same tactics were used in 2014-15 successfully

Last edited 2 years ago by Goff
BoJo: The HMS Kyiv is sinking. Man the life boats.

They should dress up some POWs in Russian uniforms and park them on the island to draw artillery fire, then clobber it. Call it Operation Cannon Fodder.

Last edited 2 years ago by BoJo: The HMS Kyiv is sinking. Man the life boats.

That would be a war crime. Also you do respect soldiers, no matter what side they fight on. They are willing to sacrifice their life for their country and that has to be respected and POWs have to be treated with dignity no matter what! You don’t want that this happens to Russian soldiers who were captured by Ukraine? Don’t suggest Russia should do it to Ukrainians!

Tasty Frieze

Not those Ukies. As soon as they’re captured, they sing like canaries.

jens holm

Im sure the Russian also block the area with mines. By that its only a matter of which sillly flag is on it.

opereta

Retreated to points within Ukraine to continue to fix in place a good amount of Ukro-Nazi troops. Taking Kharkov was never the intention and that has been clarified Ad Nauseam by Pentagon analysts.

jens holm

I think people also has to be large about oppinions like that. Its no declarasion from heaven.

It is a matter of keeping long supply lines. With constant fighting both need a lot of stffe and soldiers.

So I eat the exhausted model and believe in the “had to retreat”. Thats standard fighting by Ukras with succes.

Too many here dont accept facts about the Russia losses and very much why.

Антон

“I think” No, you don’t.

jens holm

Yours is not even a comment.

Sephiroth

And also, do not forget about the “tactical pause”

BoJo: The HMS Kyiv is sinking. Man the life boats.

Another one of Elgar’s enigma variations?

karl

this dude is so funy talking about shit it doesn’t comprehend like all people on the west

jens holm

Tactical retreats exist and often are good ones.

Its tempting for me to reflect some of those russian troopers try to expand the Izium finger. It makes sense to me.

But it is a fact the Russians also has not been able to take Kharkov. Thats ver good for the Ukra morale.

You should see many here are a kind of blindfolded fanatics and believers. Things never has more then one side.

Your 26 minusses is proof. You are not the barking mad one.

7even-N-6

One thing is for sure, once the war is over, those who wish to live on the Russian controlled territories of former Ukraine will be much better off administered by the Russian Federation. Ukraine is currently the poorest most corrupt and mismanaged country in all of Europe. The bulk of the Ukrainian citizens will choose to live in the Russian controlled cities of Ukraine since they will have excellent healthcare, job opportunity, way better pensions, education etc. There are undoubtedly very zealous Ukrainians that will under no circumstances want to live in “Russian” Ukraine which is perfectly fine. Those individuals will make their way into the north and western sections of the new rump state of landlocked Ukraine where they will be heavily subsidized by Poland and the soon to be bankrupt EU. Poland does not realize the monumental mistake they made by choosing to be the most anti-Russian nation in Europe because the EU is sinking and fast and the US will not be able to afford to assist Poland much longer. The irony of all this is that the Polish government before they decided to be Zelensky’s puppets were actually one of the few governments in all of Europe that seemed to care about its citizens. Poland was very similar to Hungary because both nations have national unity, control of their immigration policy and both nations are resisting the globo-homo agenda. Poland had potential they really did. They f3cked it up like never before and this will come back to bite them hard. By the way I’ve met people from Poland and in all honesty they are intelligent, educated, healthy people. Nothing against the people rather the current puppet government of Poland.

Ukraine will soon join the EU and will get billions of German money that already gave Poland the chance to dramatically grow its economy back when they joined

Dave

That won‘t happen. 1) Germany is bankrupt. 2) Even before the war Ukraine had lost ⅓ of its trade value 150 billion > 100 billion. Mostly bc of loss of Rusdian market. The EU can‘t make up for it.

Caesar

According to EU officials, your “soon”, if ever, at least 10 years. Let alone 10 year, even 1 year is a very long time in world politics. According to US National Debt Clock.org (https://www.usdebtclock.org/world-debt-clock.html) US has got $30 tn national debt right now and it has got no means of paying it back, It will get bankrupt. In 10 years time where US & EU will be is anybody’s guess. As for Ukraine, what Ukraine? 😊

EU just announced Ukraine will have a very long wait to get into the EU, after the Balkan country applications ahead of it, some which have been waiting nearly a decade or so…

BoJo: The HMS Kyiv is sinking. Man the life boats.

Oh, gosh. Used and thrown away like a haggard dish rag. That nasty EU. I’m appalled.

Cyberpunk2077

i burst out laughing!! Took North Makedonia 20 years to adequate themselves into EU standards and they didn’t even manage to get in, is not that piece of shit plagued of corruption in all the government stances called Ukraine that will get any better chance. Besides, Ukraine is technically in civil war since 2014, so it is probably that EU dissolves first rather than they let Ukraine join.

BoJo: The HMS Kyiv is sinking. Man the life boats.

The EU even snookered them back in 2014, when they refused/restricted Ukrainian goods for noncompliance with EU standards and because of EU farm subsidies but allowed the Ukraine to buy all EU goods. (such pals they are). And tThat’s AFTER they demanded to cut off access to the Russian market. What suckers.

Bernard Davis

I have heard that the otherwise inexplicable Ukrainian suicidal stupidity is due to a lack of iodine in the diet of people living in the western regions of that “country”. Soil deficiency.

jmn

I would really prefer the dissolution of the EU!, How dumb one can be of thinking that the french and boche farmers will permit the potencial might of ukrainian agriculture come and disrupt their way of living, specially with their slave labor costs?. This applies to all sectors of industry also. Even the portuguese will be knocked out by the slavery salaries of ukrainians. These western useful moronic countries are going to shoot themselves. For the later as usual they will emigrate and populate the entire earth as they are doing for the last 500 years.

BoJo: The HMS Kyiv is sinking. Man the life boats.

LOL, Germany is already half bankrupt from its own sanctions. Dream on.

jmn

Because you think that the EU gives money for free? and specially from Germany?. When did you land on planet Earth?, Remember Greece?, the germans banks after having failed to asses the risk of Greek economy starved the greeks so that their banks could get their mistakes erased, mean while germans where waiting with flowers hundreds thousands of people in train stations. Cut the gas today, and peace will come tomorrow, soon as the germany cannot sell more mercedes’ to the worldwide corrupt elites, including Mr. Zelenscoke and his friend Macoke.

You dum ignorant, you think all that money comes for free? Regarding the poles let’s see in a near futurewhat is going to happen to them, You think that their fate will be different than those of PIGS?

CentralAsianStudies

I support this notion. At the rate, this war may drag on for some time. But Russia appears to be in it for the long run. Ukraine is losing way to much in terms of resources and manpower. Yes the Russians are losing resource and manpower too, but these are incomparable to the Ukrainian losses. Furthermore, NATO and allies are running low on stockpiled arms to send to Ukraine. Although I never stood by with Polands Anti-Russian policy, one has to remember the history these two countries share. They have always been at eachothers throats, one way or another, and have both committed atrocities towards eachother. That said, I had a high degree of respect for Poland, as it was always in it for itself. It had a good migrant policy, and tended to ignore those attempting to run the show in Brussels. That said, they appear to have adopted an approach as of late which is highly aggressive towards Russia, almost as if the current government seeks to be a sacrificial lamb in the event of conflict. In the end of the day, it is the people who will suffer the most.

David Cobb

Very simple answer. Polish leaders have accepted the cash from the paymaster. All the money and weapons flowing through Poland now is easy to siphon off some. Tens of $Millions coming in for the refugees is difficult for some to resist. Give Ukraine their old weapons in exchange for new US/British weapons. Getting a pat on the head from US for job well done. Remember the US Ambassador has immense power in Poland. Poland only ever allowed a certain amount of leeway. If they had certain troubles with Brussels then all the better to keep them in US camp.

7even-N-6

so true!

jorge

All the polish I knew were crazy drunks.

stephan williams

Even simpler answer: Poland’s political leader is a jew who viscerally hates Russia with every particle of his being. He blames them for the death of his brother. That is the REAL REASON Poland appears to have gone off the deep end.

7even-N-6

Totally agree with your assessment of Poland. A government who cares about the well being of its people has to make difficult decisions and sometimes let bygones be bygones, move forward, remember the past but do not live by the past. Russia has not been belligerent with Poland or shown animosity towards the people or government. Today is Victory Day, 77 years ago the Germans killed tens of millions of Russians yet up until a few months ago Russia and Putin were finalizing the Nord Stream II pipeline with Germany the ex Nazi state. Russians put the past behind and so did the Germans so both nations can mutually benefit from one another. Of course the US killed the Nord Stream II because they knew that if Germany and Russia formed an economic allegiance then that would result in 2 nightmares for US hegemony, bringing Germany the most powerful European economy into the sphere of Russia-China influence and diminishing the need for US weapons sales to Europe. This just proves again that the German, Polish governments are puppets who do not have the best interest of their constituents in mind. China, Russia and also India are the new powerful global economies while the US and the EU are crashing. Poland seems to be self-inflicting its economic demise with such an extreme anti-Russia stance. Perhaps once the EU is abolished the western European nations will once again be sovereign states.

Oy!

Or maybe Russia made a mistake of not involving Poland in Nord Stream projects?

jmn

Young leaders program, all these new european ascending or in place politicians are coming from the same schools of though. All gringolised to max. Take a look to those in power today, who was not a young leader?, probably Orban all the rest are dogs of the Empire, starting by the piece of brown dump french president macron.

Oy!

Shame that Russia never tried to build something bigger with Poland… Poles alway treated Russians like older brothers. Luck of vision?

youknowme

I think they are just scamming the Americans. Also they may want to invade to create regime change in Ukraine even more than the Russians do. Polish know what Ukrainian nazi’s are.

The Ukrainian military needs to kill the Clown of Kiev. It’s the only way this slaughter of Ukrainian troops will end. Until that day comes, we will witness another day of Russian troops shooting fish in a barrel.

Ukraine will not collect their dead and are trying to criminalize making inquiries about it. You can’t hide these type of losses forever, people are getting angry. We see more and more troops not willing to fight.

Russia is being very cynical. They just keep killing Ukrainians day after day, an average of about 500 and are in no hurry to go anywhere. This is deliberate to draw the Ukrainians out from the cities. There will come a point when there will be no Ukrainians left to fight. If they wanted to force a surrender, they could eliminate the regime figures. You pick them off one bye one until you find someone willing to surrender. They don’t do this though and this is deliberate.

good4u

Might be true. Russia might want to eliminate nationals during the war rather than deal with them after the war

Jon

Psyops celebration day is over. This horrible war of attrition grinds on excruciatingly slowly. The maps don’t lie.

There is an alternative. Peace.

Putin: Declare a ceasefire and negotiate a standoff along the lines of actual control.

Russians were steadily integrating into the Western Europe economy until this gross strategic error was committed. Try to recapture those lost opportunities by long term ceasefire. Stop the bloodshed and re-engage commercially.

What’s wrong with improved standard of living? Why prove again to the world how deeply you can suffer. Come back to the table and finish your dinner. This war is a loser.

Any agreement with the present leadership in Ukraine is worthless. Ukraine has made it very clear, they are not interested.

Ukraine is getting butchered. It is all artillery, artillery, artillery, day and night. Russia doesn’t even use it’s main forces. It just sends out recon and special ops to pick off any stragglers.

good4u

Ukraine had an option to negotiate after Kiev in March/April with minimal losses. Since then to goalposts have moved. Stupidity is a weapon that cannot be defeated (talking about Nazilensky and Co.)

JayLindberg

Russia cannot re-engage with the west because of the petro dollar. Russia will never sell raw materials to rhe west for petrodollars again.

And America in the past has considered declaring war against anyone that threatens petrodollar hegemony.

Rick Jefferson

The US does not want peace or any negotiations and they own the Uke leaders who have all been bought and paid.

Z FOR VICTORY

In the near future the Ukro Nazis will realize, that they are now landlocked, with no more coal mines and wheat fields, they will be in the same league as the narco/human organ trafficking artificially propped up entity of Kosovo.

Except by then, the west will be bankrupt and no longer able to maintain those failed states with the western money…this means they will likely all turn on each other, being the rabbid psychopaths they are.

Mariupol Is 100% Liberated by the Russians

Popasnaya is under the control of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation – the city is located on a hill, about 260 meters above sea level, which is 100 meters higher than Lisichansk from the north and Svetlodarsk from the south, and Artemovsk in the western direction by more than 170 meters. Control over the city allows you to shoot through and view a vast area in all directions for more than 30 km (the aiming range of artillery). Therefore, the city is of strategic importance for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, etc.

What is for you “Victory”? To stick a flag in the middle of ruins and rubbles? Luckily most of the people are gone from the Severodonetsk area. Most where pro-russian, they never thought to be cowardly attacked by their brothers. Now just stays anger and hate…what a failure and mistake in the analysis. Personally I’m so sad and disappointed of the situation, I always understood the LPR and DPR point of view as well as for securing Crimea. But Russia should have simply secure the front as of February 24th, not reaching the western Donbass, people there, especially the youngest have change since 2014, they are more pro-western as pro-russian, this is just the fact. Now we are just in a big mess, with no winners, just loosers in an unnecessary proxy war. Never ever betray your brothers, friends and supports… Karma is a bitch!

I have already said that at the beginning of the assault on Mariupol, we were sure that there were fewer of us than them. Further events confirmed this, but gradually we equalized the “score” and began to surpass. Getting into a fight in such a scenario was a rather adventurous decision, but we won by cornering the opponent in Azovstal and completely blocking him.

I’m not saying this to show what kind of heroes we are, but to convey the idea: Ukraine had all the opportunities to unblock the city, but did not use any. Now they are heroizing the Azov people, but in fact they drove them into this ass. What do they like to say there, – zrada? She is the one. For the puppeteers, all these “heroes” of the defense of Azovstal are nothing more than a “sacred” sacrifice, and when Ukrainian propaganda paints the image of a heroic defender, we see idiots driven and betrayed by their government.
