Serial deliveries of the special armored police car SPM-3 Medved for the Russian Interior Ministry will begin next year, the TASS news agency reported on Wednesday, citing the Head of Media Relations of the Military-Industrial Company (VPC LCC), Sergei Suvorov.
“An order on the adoption of the vehicle for the supply for the Interior Ministry was signed in February of this year. Deliveries will begin in 2017,” Suvorov said.
The SPM-3 Medved is intended for use as a transport and operational vehicle. It can be equipped with a variety of special equipment and weapon. The ballistic protection of the car’s body and bulletproof glass corresponds to the 6A class.
