The Russian military continues to strike high-value military targets in Ukraine with the advanced 9K720 Iskander system.
On May 6, the Ministry of Defense of Russia released footage of a recent pinpoint strike with an Iskander-K cruise missile on a military facility in an unspecified part of Ukraine. The strike was coordinated with a drone.
The missile used in the strike was likely the Iskander-K main armament, the 9M728 cruise missile which has a known maximum range of 500 kilometers. The missile is guided by the GLONASS satellite navigation system and INS [inertial navigation system].
The 9M728 is equipped with a TERCOM [terrain contour matching] system, which allows it to flew at an extremely low level to avoid detection by enemy radars.
The Iskander-K can launch the more advanced the 9M729 cruise missile, which has a higher yield warhead and a new guidance system for greater accuracy. The missile has a known range of 480 kilometers. Most parts and components of the 9M728 and 9M729 missiles are identical.
The Russian military has been using cruise and quasi-ballistic missiles of the Iskander system to target high-value military targets of Kiev forces since the beginning of its special operation Ukraine.
Russia’s precision-guided missile inflicted heavy losses on Kiev forces, destroyed Ukraine’s military industrial complex and paralyzed much of the country’s logistic supply network.
General Secretary of the United Russia Turchak during a visit to Kherson said that “Russia is here forever.” It remains to find out in what form – as part of the Crimean Federal District, in the form of the Kherson People’s Republic, or as a separate entity.

Even if that ship was sunk, it’s a pyrrhic victory at best. Russia is primarily a land power, and a fucking serious land power at that. Even if Nato somehow managed to get their best ships into the Black Sea they’d likely dealt with in short fashion by land based missile systems. I think it was last year when the Chinese buzzed US ships with electronic jamming devices and caused them no end of problems. When it comes to the sea, submarines seem to be the most successful craft to use in modern warefare. Ships only seem to be really effective against third rate powers.

I am wondering what kind of military strategy Russians are Using. Last I checked they have 100’s of satellites in the orbit. Track what goes in to UA and hit it with precision guided missile. Attack critical infrastructure to stop inflow of weapons. Is that a hard task to accomplish given the weapon and technology they have? C’mon Putin its a no brainer. I feel like RU’s military capability is overrated or they are fighting half hearted which could lead to their demise.

Need to improve accuracy of this weapon. The missile did not actually hit the building, it hit the grass areas beside the building. The building might have taken a bit of damge but it definitely was not wiped out, not even close. Probably why the vid was only 4 secs long it was cut to not show a miss
