Russian Ka-52 Attack Helicopter Crashed In Syria. Two Pilots Died

A Russian Ka-52 attack helicopter has crashed in eastern Syria, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on May 7.

The incident took place during a planned flight. Two pilots died. The bodies of the both pilots were found and delivered to the Khmeimim air base.

According to preliminary data, a technical failure may have been reason of the crash.

“When carrying out a planned flight over the eastern regions of the Syrian Arab Republic, the Russian Ka-52 helicopter crashed. Both pilots were killed,” the Russian military said in a statement. “The cause of the incident could be a technical malfunction.”

On May 3, a Russian Su-30SM fighter jet crasshed off the coast of the Syrian province of Latakia resulting in the death of two pilots. The May 3 incident was also caused by a technical failure, according to preliminary data.
