On January 9, 10 and 11, Russian sources shared several videos documenting recent strikes with Lancet loitering munitions on Ukrainian equipment in the special military operation zone.
The strikes targeted the following equipment:
- A Polish-made Krab self-propelled 155 mm howitzer;
- An American-made M777 towed 155 mm howitzer;
- A Soviet-made 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled 122 mm howitzer;
- A Soviet-made 2S3 Akatsiya self-propelled 152 mm howitzer;
- A Soviet-made BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launcher;
- A Czechoslovakian-made RM-70 multiple rocket launcher;
- A Soviet-made T-64 main battle tank.
Counting in the new strikes, there have been at least 36 documented attacks with Lancet loitering munitions on howitzers and rocket launchers of Kiev forces since the start of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine.
The Lancet was developed by the ZALA Aero Group, a subsidiary of Russia’s defense giant Kalashnikov. The company produces two versions of the loitering munition, the Izdeliye-52 with an endurance of 40 minutes and a three-kilogram warhead and the larger Izdeliye-51 that has an endurance of an hour and is armed with a warhead weighting five kilograms.
Both versions are equipped with an elector-optical system and a two-way data-link. This allows them to detect, track and lock on static and moving targets.
Kiev forces have been struggling to counter the Lancet and other types of Russian loitering munitions, which are hard to intercept due to their small radar cross-section and minimal infrared signature.

I believe more lancet drones should be used for each target, like 3 would guarantee the destruction of enemy vehicle, it could also have a psychological effect.
Rendering a weapons system unusable has an immediate effect on the frontlines, they can come back over time and either hit it with artillery of possible capture in mostly intact for studying and / or reuse unaffected parts.
Your logic has merit, but on reflection using just one munition on each target allows three times more mayhem than your proposal would achieve.
And FWIW, most of those vehicles that were hit seem to be put out of commission if not totally destroyed in short order – and that with the apparent survival and escape of at least some of the occupants. Would they be enthusiastic about getting into another tank or truck that’s just as likely to be taken out by another drone?
Overkill is what bankrupt USSA tried. Russia will recycle the scrap when the job of denaZification and the destruction of Natostan is complete. A lot of €uroscrap still needs processing not to mention the last of the Pentacon crap.

The great efficiency and versatility of these drones can be seen from the attacks. They fly 2-3 meters above the ground or higher and dive on the target. Excellent project and excellent realization.

The first was rendered unusable from the hit and was probably retargeted later by artillery since the exact location was known. The effect they were looking for was to silence its gun immediately, the armor from behind is weak and the shrapnel it created mostly likely injured the gunners.

My understanding is that the high explosives used in missiles e drones they are much more powerful than those of the Second World War. 1 kg today I think corresponds to 6-10 kg of TNT. I remember when the Lebanese attacked the American and French bases in Beirut in 1982. The truck bombs each carried 5 tons of exogene, equal to 30-50 tons of TNT! They destroyed, exploding outside buildings 100 meters long!
Exogen (T4-RDX-C4) was actually invented also in WWII, with about 1.6x efficiency vs TNT. The bomb trucks had the ANFO (ammonium nitrate+diesel) as typical explosive. Very effective and easy to find/prepare, just that one what was used in Oklahoma City in 1992.
I’m sure, in Beiruth they used exogen. About the bombing of the FBI building in Oklahoma City I don’t know about the explosive, but it destroyed more than half of the huge building. I calculated 500 dead at least.

the videos are a proof that the accuracy are mostly good, but the most hits are only damages, what confirms the need for bigger warheads, at least double, because otherwise the enemy can repair theyr heawy armament again and again.
I can tell already that the patriot missile systems will come far too late to do any good, furthermore they will serve as a liability to spark further conflict after the main fighting is resolved.
Huge mistake giving Ukraine those things.
