On July 31, the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down the Mi-8 helicopter. The aircraft crashed near the city of Donetsk. It was attacked during takeoff.
The aircraft was reportedly shot down by Ukrainian UAV. If confirmed, the strike may be an important victory of the Ukrainian military because it took place at significant distance from the frontlines.
The helicopter belonged to the Federal Service of the National Guard of Russia. It was reportedly transfering wounded Russian servicemen from the war-torn region. There are victims. Any other details of the attack are yet to be provided.
