Russian MiG-29K multirole fighter jet has crashed in the Mediterranean during operations from Admiral Kuznetsov heavy aircraft-carrying missile cruiser.
According to reports, the incident took place November 13 afternoon when the jet faced a technical fault and splashed down in the water while attempting to land. A Russian rescue helicopter picked up the pilot.
Intitially the report about the alleged MiG-29K crash in the Mediterranean appeared at the Combataircraft website with link to “sources close to Combat Aircraft“. Then, the report was reposted by a number of web blogs and small websites and finally appeared at the Fox News TV channel.
Nonetheless, Fox News prefered to refer to some “US intelligence officials“:
A Russian fighter jet crashed in the Mediterranean Sea shortly after launching from its aircraft carrier near the coast of Syria Sunday, two U.S. officials told Fox News.
Following the reports in various media outlets, the Russian Defense Ministry was pushed to comment on the topic and confirmed the incident.
“An aviation accident with carrier-based fighter MIG-29K occured during exercise flights as a result of a technical fault during the approach landing a few kilometers from the Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft-carrying cruiser.”
Sh!t happens! No big deal as long as pilot is ok. Bummer about the MIg.

America has John McCain…. : )
Shit happens.
Good to hear the pilot is okay! There are still teethings and growing pains yet. Russia is up to task.
Murrca had same problems with new birds, new decks, new tech etc. shit happens. keep up the good work ♡
Well, I actually figured that this was really a training mission for the pilots and crew. The real hitting power was going to come from the land based aircraft. Glad to hear the pilot is okay. These operations are tricky.
Careful, as Israeli’s will try and use signals and discreet forms of electronic warfare to try and bring down a few over time. I know Jews, they will do this rarely as to try and not arouse suspicion. They always like to depopulate Goyim’s slowly, and depopulate non-allies military capabilities slowly as well without arousing suspicion. https://antizionistleague.com/
Please take your medications. They are good for you. Dr. Goldberg means well.
Sounds like the pilot dumped the plane to avoid a major incidence, most likely due to a live missile that failed to release. For the pilot to eject safely he has to be at a certain altitude and ejecting from a height close to deck level the pilot would not have survived. Plane is cheaper and easier to replace than a pilot.
No human loss but its a pretty big financial loss. Hopefully this will give some more launch lessons learned experience for the Logistics operators.
This is the nature of carrier based aviation. The US loses aircraft regularly only when it happens to them it usually isn’t under the media spotlight the Admiral Kuznetsov is in at the moment. Happy that the pilot survived and he ditched in the water and not on the flight deck.
The Admiral needs some major upgrade.
Fox News preferred to refer to some “US intelligence officials“ because it insinuates that the US was involved. It makes it sound more “juicy.”
