Ukrainian soldiers in Bakhmut/Artyomovsk
The allied Russian and L/DPR forces continue their offensive along the Bakhmut-Soledar-seversk front lines.
After the Uglegorskaya power plant came under control of the DPR, Russian-led forces advanced towards the village of Semigorye.
On July 30, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the ongoing retreat from the village of Semigorye. According to the evening summary of the AFU, the eastern districts of the settlement has completely came under the control of the Russian army and its allies.
According to the reports from the spot, the village has almost came under Russian control. The AFU are retreating amid the ongoing clashes.
In turn, the Ukrainian military command is strengthening the military positions to the south of Bakhmut. Additional forces of the 72nd brigade were reportedly deployed in the areas of Kurdyumovka and Nikolaevka Vtoraya.

The AFU military positions in Bakhmut are already shelled by precise fire of Russian artillery from the town of Pokrovskoe located on the western outskirts of the city which recently came under control of the DPR. After advance in Pokrovske, Russian-led forces took control of the village of Klinove located to the south.

On the south-eastern outskirts of Bakhmut, the main battle is ongoing on the Veselaya Dolina – Zaitsevo front lines.
Clashes continue in the area of the village of Velikaya Dolina. To the south, Russian-led forces are approaching Zaitsevo from the east.
On July 30, first reports claimed that the village of Vershina came under DPR control. In the morning, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the offensive actions of the Allied Forces in the Bakhmut direction, noting partial success in the area of the village of Vershina. Earlier on July 28, the AFU confirmed that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation took control of the northeastern districts of the village. Clashes continue on the outskirts of Vershina and the DPR military is yet to claim the control. The 72nd separate motorized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reportedly suffered heavy losses and had almost lost its combat capability.
Control of the village of Vershina paves the way for Russian offensive on Zaitsevo and further attack on the AFU positions in Veselaya Dolina from the southern direction. At the moment, Russian and DPR assault groups cannot approach Veselaya Dolina from the eastern direction from their positions in Klinove because of Ukrainian trenches that were heavily fortified by the AFU over the past eight years.
Unable to stop Russian-led forces in the fields, the AFU traditionally reinforce their military positions on the streets of the local settlements. Preparing for the battle for Bakhmut, Ukrainian forces are blocking the streets and establish firing points in residential buildings.
