On March 6, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the destruction of three Ukrainian aircraft over the Donbass front lines over the past day. According to the Russian military officials, the destroyed aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force include:
- the Ukrainian Su-27 was destroyed in the area of Novolenovka in the Zaporozhye region;
- a Mi-8 helicopter was shot down near the Novopavlovka in the DPR;
- a MiG-29 fighter was shot down by air defense means in the area of Krasnoarmeysk in the DPR.
In total, since the beginning of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine, Russian forces claimed the destruction of 396 aircraft, 217 helicopters, 3,345 unmanned aerial vehicles, 410 anti-aircraft missile systems, 8,192 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,054 multiple rocket launchers, 4,284 field artillery and mortar guns, as well as 8,771 units of special military vehicles.
Reporting on the ongoing battles on the Ukrainian front lines, the Russian Defence Military claimed that up to 45 Ukrainian personnel, two armoured fighting vehicles, and three pickups were destroyed as a result of the attacks of Russian artillery and aviation near the villages of Timkovka and Novosyolovskoye in the Kupyansk region.
The AFU lost 160 servicemen one tank, three infantry fighting vehicles, five armoured fighting vehicles, three motor vehicles, and one fighting vehicle equipped with Grad MLRS, as a result of the Russian military operations near Yampolovka and Chervonaya Dibrova in the Krasny Liman region.
Up to 225 Ukrainian personnel, five infantry fighting vehicles, nine armoured fighting vehicles, five pickups, four motor vehicles, one Uragan MLRS, and one D-30 howitzer were destroyed by Russian forces on the Donetsk front lines. An ordnance depot of 55th Artillery Brigade of the AFU, and a U.S.-made AN/TPQ-37 counterbattery warfare radar were destroyed near Dachnoye and Chasov Yar in the DPR respectively.
Up to 65 personnel, two armoured fighting vehicles, two pickups, as well as the fighting vehicles equipped with Uragan and Grad MLRS were destroyed by Russian artillery near Ugledar, Prechistovka, and Novosyolka in the DPR.
In Kherson direction, three more Ukrainian armoured fighting vehicles, eight motor vehicles, and one Akatsiya self-propelled howitzer were destroyed by Russian artillery.
