Russian Military Destroyed Another Ukrainian S-300 Air Defense System (Video)

The Russian military has destroyed yet another Ukrainian S-300 long-range air defense system within the special military operation zone, a spokesman for the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on March 10.

The spokesman, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, said during his daily briefing that the system was struck on the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic a day earlier, without revealing the exact version of the system or how it was destroyed.

“In the area of the settlement of Petropavlovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, a Ukrainian S-300 surface-to-air missile system was struck,” the spokesman said.

On March 9, video footage showing a destroyed 5P85D  transporter erector launcher of a Ukrainian S-300PS system surfaced online.

The Russian military usually targets Ukrainian air defense systems with anti-radar missiles, like the air-launched Kh-31P, and loitering munitions, like the Lancet. Electronic warfare systems and aerial decoys are typically employed during such attacks.

Prior to the start of the Russian special military operation last year, Ukraine had around 100 S-300P, S-300PT, S-300PS and S-300V1 batteries in service. In the first few months of the operation, the country received a single S-300PMU battery from Slovakia.

Many of Ukraine’s S-300 systems have been destroyed, damaged or captured by the Russian military since the start of the operation.

Despite receiving massive support from the United States and other allies, Ukraine’s air defense capabilities continue to deteriorate. The Russian military is still launching drone and missile strikes on targets across the country without facing any real resistance.

This is just a humanitarian act by the Russians to stop the armed forces of the failed Ukrainian CIA project from killing more civlilians with their S-300s.

Very good. On the other hands, just now I saw a clip where Switchblade 600 was used for the first time by the ukroshit banderist pigs, hitting 1 TOR and 1 S-300 systems, not destroyed but with significant damage. That are really dangerous because it have a 40 km range. I am really very curious how russians will manage to counter that because it is a must.

Here is how it is managed. During a barrage, Rus aircraft fly in the rear, armed with fast missiles ready-to-fire. The missiles only await coordinates. An A50U spy in the sky detects the launch of the enemy weapon and immediately relays the coordinates of the launch site to the aircraft. A missile fires the very instant the coordinates are received, hopefully clobbering the launching platform and crew within a very short interval after detection. This is the standard method by which the normal shoot-and-scoot routine followed by launchers is turned into a shoot-and-be-clobbered routine. Fast missiles are used on high-priority targets, like air defense, while loits like Geraniums or Lancets are used on lesser priority, and still lesser priority get preloaded artillery guns. Which is used depends upon the tactical situation and battlefield experience and cost.

I know that, but it isn’t the only way. For that reason I said I’m curious what method they will use. I think there are another 2 approaches. All have advantages and disadvantages. That mentioned by you imply a NON-STOP A50U PATROL over a vast area and russians don’t have more than 5. Also that means a non-stop long range fighter MIG 31. Theoretically possible, practically pretty hard. Another one is to have enough Pantsirs in good locations, preferable on high ground, in layered defense. And the last I mention is to have suffocation of MANPADS almost everywhere, which is pretty improbable; or to deploy enough in the well-known enemy launching paths. But russians may have another ways to do, plenty of competent officers in the chain of command.

The problem is Kiev had recently sold a quantity of S-300 batteries to Assad in Damascus/Syria who had the intention to use them as a WMD against Israel.

Therefore they had to be taken out in Ukraine before delivery, and destroyed permanently in a precision strike.
