Russian military instructors have trained 1,200 Syrian recruits and reservists at the Dreij training center located near Damascus, the Russian state-run news agency TASS reported on Thursday citing Syrian Army General Mansoor Nabih.
“Thanks [to the Russian instructors], we have trained military servicemen who will participate in the upcoming offensives towards the positions of the Islamic State terror group,” TASS quoted the general as saying. “A total of 1,200 people have been trained.“
Gen Nabih added that Russian-trained troops participated in the liberation of Palmyra and the offensives in Raqqah, Deir Ezzor and Aleppo provinces.
According to a Russian military instructor named Alexei, a training course lasts 15 to 20 days. Initially, all soldiers receive a general training. Then separate groups of soldiers receive weapons training, tactical course, engineering or medical training.
“While working with Syrian troops, we have achieved outstanding results in weapons training, engineering and tactical training,” the instructor said according to TASS. “The troops have acquired good weapons skills that could be used during offensive and defensive operations. They are ready to defend their country, their morale is high.”

It will over time be strengthened with a recovering society and militarily expand with advanced arms, becoming by itself a self sufficient force which will keep Turks on the right path and void Israel of future Lebensraum and help contain US aggression in the region. Funny How this is basic training actually is , as they do offer combat training and and advanced training not unlike the US army which has 2 weeks of Boot before you choose where you want to go if you don’t washout. This a similar type of training with after boot then you choose your type of trade in the military.
I would like to know in what ways Russian training of Arab recruits is different then American training of Arab recruits. Because the Americans have been training Arab armies for decades, and most of them are still shite. Same in Afghanistan. And say what you want about the morally bankrupt US government, but US soldiers are overall pretty good. So do the Russians manage to overcome the problems that the Americans can’t? Or are they simply better at working with the material that they have, instead of trying to turn them into western soldiers without much success?
The US is the only country to screw up military training in the world and why they ask other countries to pick up their slack. The fact everyone else can train better than the US really shouldn’t come as a surprise , US training is rather not good enough.
