The Russian Military Police conducted on December 12 two patrols in Syria’s northeastern region in coordination with the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), according to the North Press Agency (NPA).
The first patrol was conducted on the M4 highway, which links al-Hasakah with Raqqa and Aleppo. The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) reopened the highway earlier this week with support from Russia.
The second patrol was conducted on a road linking the government-held part of al-Hasakah’s city center and the town of Qamishli on Syrian-Turkish border.
Several units of the Russian Military Police were deployed in northeast Syria last October to facilitate an agreement between the SDF’s political wing and the Damascus government.
Later, the Russian Military Police was tasked with implementing the Russian-Turkish agreement on northeast Syria in coordination with the SDF and government forces. The agreement has led to a significant decrease in violence in the region.
With a mere 1 km buffer between the terrorists and the highway who’s going to use it, I wouldn’t, I’d go the long way around and avoid being sniped if I could, even if they offered me escort convoys for protection. A 5 km buffer zone and nothing less will get the highway functioning again, just 1 km isn’t enough to ensure the safety of any travellers on this highway, it’ll be the highway to hell if you’re brave or stupid enough to use it. Come on Putin, is 1 km the best you can do, according to Erdogan’s safe zone proposal a 7 km strip on either side of the safe zone should be administered by the relevant parties, and all we got was 1 km, that means there’s at least 6 more km to go according to Erdogan himself, how about negotiating for a bigger buffer area, one that at least puts the terrorist’s small arms out of range of the highway.

M4 highway is not under control of the communist guerilla under fake SAA uniforms. Guess have to see those fake news everyday until Kurdish National Council (ENKS) takes to the control.
