A convoy of the Russian Military Police entered the border town of Kobane in northeast Syria on October 23 in order to implement the recent agreement with Turkey.
According to RT, the Russian Military Police will conduct patrols on the border line with Turkey in accordance with the Russian-Turkish agreement.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan reached the agreement after a long face-to-face meeting in Sochi a day earlier.
Under the agreement, units of the Russian Military Police and the Syrian border guards will be deployed along Turkey’s border. Kurdish fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) will be forced to withdraw 30 km away from the border line.
Meanwhile, the Kremlin said that the U.S. had abandoned Kurdish units in northeast Syria “almost forcing them to fight against the Turks”. Russia called on Kurdish units to withdraw away from Turkish border.
“The remaining Kurdish units [along Turkey’s border] will be crushed by the Turkish military machine,” Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov emphasized.
In the last two weeks, thousands of Syrian Army troops entered northeastern Syria under an initial agreement between the Damascus government and the SDF, that was facilitated by Russia.
The SDF has not commented on the Russian-Turkish agreement, so far. Some of the group’s political commanders are now visiting Washington, that facilitated the Turkish-led operation in northeast Syria.
