At 17:00 March 2, units of the Russian Military Police deployed in the town of Saraqib in eastern Idlib, the Russian military announced in an official statement.
According to the statement, Russian forces will guarantee “security” and allow a peaceful passage of cars through the M5 and M4 highways.
The official deployment of Russian forces in Saraqib followed an advance of the Syrian Army supported by the Russian Aerospace Forces. The Syrians cleared Saraqib of Turkish forces and their al-Qaeda allies.
The Russian military presence in the town is designed to prevent further Turkish attempts to capture it and cut off the M5 highway.

Was about time, Syria and Hezbollah had to bear the brunt of NATO’s 2nd largest airforce attacks at the service of ISIS/alQaeda while the Kremlin was deciding how to act without upsetting their Turkish partners. The Saraqib fuckup shouldn’t be allowed to ever happen again.
The problem was not Russia….the problem is the SAA which use to flee when terrorist are coming….I wrote many times that Tiger Forces and Hezbollah are the only reliable force on ground to fight terrorist!…thats why Russian Speznats protect Gen Hassan and Israel use to attack Hezbollah resources to help terrorist in Syria!..
The 4th armoured division is the best of the SAA also and the new 5th corps , but most of the best defensiva SAA forces are stationed in Damascus due to Israel

They have already saved Syria as a state, saved millions of civilians from headchoping and made immense economical contribution to Syria! But they will not go to open war, on behalf of Syria, against Turkey – Israel – USA – Kurds – for every peace of land Syria used to control! Russia needs to quickly update its nuclear doctrine to allow for the use of tactical nuclear weapons in the defense of its forces abroad. It needs to be widely understood (and more importantly, believed) that an attack on Russian forces anywhere could trigger nuclear retaliation.
This would be a wise policy before putting Russian personell in harms way. Or maybe that’s the intent: deliberately expose Russian MP’s to Turkish air attack, and when the inevitable deaths of Russian troops occur, use that as pretext for retaliation. Those tactical nukes on a hair trigger will be needed to deter the US and Isreal, because it shows them that attacking Russia in Syria means instant nuclear war. There must be no ambiguity about that.
Meanwhile get Greece firmly onboard if they aren’t already. Greece must veto any attempt by the US to get a NATO Article 5 vote for intervention to help Turkey.
If full on war breaks out between Russia and Turkey, could Greece be enticed into pushing for a buffer zone in Turkish territory?

it’s a full picture. He was groomed since the beginning by the Russian Command to be the Face of the SAA. and he is a Brigadier General (he does not fight from the front). He’s a Military intelligence officer who was given the primary Assault force of the SAA and he has been winning wherever he put his feet.
Russians even before official envolevement, primarily focused on the Tiger Forces (renamed 25th Special Missions Division in 2017) by training them and providing them with personal equipment (Nigh Vision devices newer rifles etc) and the 5th Volunteer Corps (withunits like ISIS hunters that many Russian SOF were using) which had almost full Russian Higher Command. By that Russia ensured a coherent fighting force that guaranteed the fighting on the field is as efficient as could be so the air Support does not go to waist. and it paid off.

Can anyone tell me wtf has happened with Syrian/Russian air defense because they are still beeing attacked by turkish drones with no problem it seems. Either Pantsirs/Buks are ineffective because of jamming or does Russia still playing games with syrian soldier lives? I hope those reports are only turkish propaganda otherwise Russia can expect drastic decrease in sales of their AD weapons. Also why are not syrian migs flying cap missions and shooting down drones if air defense was destroyed? Does Syria even have any of the mig-29 left?

If Russian airplane is hit, then no plane will get there, but for now, Russia keeps its commitment to protect only its bases, nothing more.
The focus is on HTS and girlfriends on the ground. You may hear a lot of noise about the Turkish drones but, it is not holding water anymore. A lot have been blown up and it is not stopping SAA offensive operations at all now. Follow the map, not the mouths. My take Guy.
Pantsir are very efective in Libya..they shot down Turkish drones like sitting ducks and Hafter forces are around tripoli in spite of thousands of Syrian terrorist deployed there!…the problem is the not reliable SAA and SAF!..they lack of coordination, comunication, training and control….turkish drones were fying at the same time with Russian drones, Syrian drones and Irani drones…above them Syrian jets and Russian jets…imagine Syrian air defense operators and what happened with Il 20!…i am sure that they have shot down its own planes…as they told that 3 turkish drones were shot down…later we seen one turkish drones and two Syrian jets!
