Russian Military Regularly Tracks Convoys Bringing Oil From Eastern Syria To Turkey, Iraq

Makeshift oil refineries in Syria are obtaining crude oil from the Islamic State network

On December 5, the chief of the Russian General Staff, Gen. Valery Gerasimov, revealed that the Russian intelligence services regularly register convoys transporting oil, which move from eastern Syria to Turkey and Iraq.

“The Russian intelligence services regularly register convoys of trucks carrying oil tankers, which move from Syria’s eastern regions, controlled by [the US-led] coalition, to the territories of Turkey and Iraq … the funds from the sale of oil products are also being spent on financing terrorists belonging to ISIS,” Gen. Gerasimov said during a briefing with foreign countries’ military attaches, according to the Russian news agency Sputnik.

Gen. Gerasimov also warned that the U.S. is trying to establish a Kurdish state in northeastern Syria. According to the Russian general, the U.S. continue to deliver weapons and military equipment to Kurdish separates in the region, while turning a blind eye to the persecution of Arabs there.

“The situation on the eastern border of the Euphrates is deteriorating. The United States, falling back on Syrian Kurds, is trying to create a quasi-state formation independent from the central government there. They are already forming the government of the so-called Democratic Federation of Northern Syria,” said Gen. Gerasimov.

In a similar warning, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said last week that the U.S. is violating the territorial integrity of Syria and trying to to establish a quasi-state structures on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River.

The U.S’ main proxy in Syria, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), is still preventing the Damascus government from opearting large oil fields in its areas. While the force says that these resources are kept for all Syrians once a political solution is reached, it continues to exploit them for its own benefit.

There should be no shock to anyone with common sense here… The US is illegally operating in northeastern Syria for the Kurds and for Israel… They want to see Syria dismembered into smaller states and give the Kurds their illegal state..

The US is basically stealing Syria’s oil wealth which is a violation of international law… But who is going to stop these criminals?

seawolf

Good question, and what you do about it Mr Putin? One thing is to to reveal it and the other is to stop it. Can you?

Glen Etzkorn

they the Russians bombed the convoys while Obomber dropped warning leaflets then missed targets landing bombs only to kick up sand, Russians had videos of who could hit targets, American Nazi pilots not any videos doing the job.

John Whitehot

“They want to see Syria dismembered into smaller states”

actually, they wanted Syria to be ruled by ziojihadists. When they failed, they resorted to ethnic cleansing of arabs inside kurdish occupied areas.

we shall see how that will end.

Jens Holm

Be a dismantle Yourself. Your knowledgelevel is lower then ever. Do You wrirte from a toilet in an ISIS tunnel…

Very good internet not yet can bring lyings smell.

Jens Holm

I hope You soon will be implanted comming sense.

Jonathan Stern

Why are the Kurds less deserving of a state than rhe Palestinian s?

?

seawolf

It seems nothing can stop the imperator to do whatever he wants.

John Whitehot

you seem to forget that Assad is in power and the “moderate rebels” are now used as fertilizer.

Jens Holm

Which one ?

BL

So Turkey is still cooperating with the US in stealing Syria’s oil while the US is openly trying to create a Kurdish state south of Turkey’s border???

Jens Holm

NO.

Human kind is doomed

Keep saying that to yourself! Only reason US is in that region is because of the oil!

Nizam

Apparently Yes and covertly No. The ultimate aim is set by the Jews for the coming of their messiah Anti-Christ.

Human kind is doomed

There is only one god in this game, all mighty dollar!

the Kurdish state scenario is over…..long time ago…..

Tommy Jensen

Yes. Business is business. If you could get car gasoline to 50% wouldnt you buy and save these money? Off couse you would. Your neighbour pay 100% and cry you should be thinking of moral and ethics and not your wallet. Money make everything rotten inside a man……….……..LOL.

Brian Michael Bo Pedersen

Wrong: Man makes everything about money rotten

And are you saying that you would gladly support ISIS and alike just to save some money on your fuel bill? And dont forget that oil is used in plastic and rubber, so its not only the fuel/gas industry that is profiting from ISIS oil

Douglas Houck

Look at that makeshift refinery! It can’t be making that much product. This is small potatoe stuff.

Jens Holm

Thats right. They have a very low capasity and only produce low octane and mayby diesel for trains.

So the many, many trucs to Turkey only can be few. Very ineffective to transport crude oil anywhere as well.

But as you see here, the stupidist buy anything. I am sure we could sell our many pigs to them, if we named the supersheep, supergoats or turkey.

gustavo

You have a small potatoea stuff sold by few cents to Turkey, and Turkey sell them a few dollars….that is a hugh business mu friend. The question here is……why Russia has alllowed this business to continue in small scale ?, knowing Turkey is making good business with this.

RichardD

This is more evidence of US complicity in a huge scam. It also shows the extent of the duplicity of the Turkish and Iraqi governments.

Jens Holm

No, its not.

Glen Etzkorn

during the Obomber lets shower them convoys with pansy leaflets jokingly warnings over 32 billion dollars of oil flowed thru Erdogons son’s guidence in Turkeys refineries than sold dirt to Israeli profiteers. Filthy Isrealis had a nice scam to get low prices and profits just fine for a lot fools wallets and praise given how chosen ones are supposed great racial examples of business types with a Midas touch. Durhan published the long years ago and supposedly there had lawsuits winding its way, (on this war crime activity) to a International court, haven’t heard where that effort helped.apparently. too many years later.

Jens Holm

???

Jens Holm

Another very stupid high biased version from Russians.

They probatly think all is theirs, because Assads has sold it for weapons and food.

Looking at maps, we see Assads has many socalled dry almost empty oil- and gas wells. Thats correct, because they use ancient technology of russian kind. There must be at least 3-4 times more, if modern western companies took over.

And even SDFs posses large fields none of that should be used tomorrow for none. Its a long time income and to use for Syrians.

And thats where the dispute is. Assads didnt share with the rest of the Syrians at all. They sold it to them having a good income by it. But isnt the oil and gas in Syria for all – share by 19 mio. inhabitants.

ISIS stole from the thiefs of Damaskus and SDFs took it for sharing it with all Syrians – and ALL – not only the parts in the SDF possesion.

Barba_Papa

If western oil companies were to take over Syria would lose ownership of the oil and gas fields as well. Western companies aren’t into altruism, they’re in it to make money. They’re really good at making money. For themselves that is. The rest will get peanuts.

And the SDF sharing it with all Syrians? Thanks man, I needed a good laugh today.

gustavo

This news came to me a many other for sure like a shock wave. We believed that Russia was able to destroy Turkey smuggling business (Erdogan family business). but it looks like it has been continue for many years with the acknowledge of Russia aerospace force !! am I wrong ?

Barba_Papa

When ISIS was doing it was relatively easy for the RuAF to target the oil tankers. With the SDF doing the smuggling it’s not so easy because they have the USAF to protect them. The RuAF can’t bomb the SDF smugglers without causing major problems just as the US can’t bomb Assad’s forces after ‘yet another chemical attack’ without causing major problems as well. And those at least were incidental attacks. Attacking the oil tankers would demand a sustained coordinated campaign.

beypuutyina

do you say, that RuAF is able to fight only camelfuckers?

Barba_Papa

No, I’m saying that ISIS did not have a powerful air force flying air cover for them and crazy enough to shoot the RuAF down. That tends to complicate matters if you want to fly interdiction.

beypuutyina

No, you are right. I wrote several times, that a) russia has own interests which has only narrow cross-section with syrian ones. b) putin made big mistake, when was waitong for trump and did not take quickly tabqa and raqqa. he invited yanks and now russians are simply too weak to kick out the enemies.

R Trojson

More Russian propaganda since Russia-Syria-Iran coalition resupplied al Safa ISIS with at least for truckloads of supplies just before letting them go to fight the US and Kurds. The oil is being sold to support the building of Kurdistan. Amazing that Russia tracks oil deliveries by Kurdistan to Turkey and Iraq but fails to track ISIS in areas of Syria that Russia controls. Guess they do not need to track ISIS because ISIS only goes where Russia tells them to go.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

“On December 5, the chief of the Russian General Staff, Gen. Valery Gerasimov, revealed that the Russian intelligence services regularly register convoys transporting oil, which move from eastern Syria to Turkey and Iraq.” Does anybody know why Iraq is in this statement at all, it’s to conflate 2 different issues that are linked. The Turks buy oil from the Iraqis, but they also but oil illegally from the Iraqi Kurds who control large chunks of the Iraq oilfields still. They lost most of them last year when the Iraqis took back most of their territory from them, but the Kurds are still in control of the most important areas and can turn off the tap between Iraq and Turkey just like that if they want to. You’d think that both Iraq and Turkey would have good reason to get rid of the Iraqi Kurds, but it actually suites the Turks to let the Kurds have control of the transit pipeline to Turkey. With the Kurds there the Iraqis get a lower price from Turkey for their oil, with the Kurds gone the Iraqis get a higher price for their oil sold to Turkey, Turkey likes having them there, they get cheaper oil that way. But Turkey doesn’t want them becoming more powerful than they are, hence the trilateral agreement last year between Iran/Turkey/Iraq, which allowed Iraq to take back most of their territory from the Kurds, but not all of it, that didn’t suit the Turks, just allowed them to take back enough to keep the Iranians and the Iraqis happy, but only enough to leave the Kurds where they are now and oil prices low for the Turks. So unless this article is suggesting the Syrian kurds are selling the oil to the Turks, I’m going to assume it’s the illegally obtained Iraqi oil being transported from Kurdish Iraq through Syria to Turkey. As to the US selling it to Turkey, they’d be breaking their own sanctions against Turkey if they did, and as much as I know that wouldn’t really stop them, in this case it would be totally counter productive, so I doubt that’s the case. Just a propaganda story to fill in the time I think.

χρηστος

i remember when Turkey made the mistake of messing with Russia….and Russia decided to stp the flow of Syrian oil to Turkey. videos of dozens of trucks exploding in the middle of nowhere emerged. great time….!
