On August 29th, the Russian Ministry of Defence reported the destruction of another Ukrainian military echelon. This time Russian missiles struck train at the Dorozhnaya railway station located about 13 kilometers to the north-west of Avdiivka.
The Russian military supported the claims with video of the strikes. According to the Russian MoD, the reconnaissance unit of the Russian Armed Forces revealed the arrival of a military echelon with artillery ammunition at the unloading station. The ground-based missile system immediately struck the target.
‘As a result of the defeat of the military echelon of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, wagons with artillery ammunition, about 30 servicemen and up to 10 units of equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were destroyed.’ the Russian MoD reported.
The local sources clarified that at least three Ukrainian military wagons were destroyed.
The Russian military continues targeting Ukrainian railway infrastructure on a regular basis. The railway station in the city of Dnipro was one of the targets of Russian missile strikes on August 24. LINK On August 17, as a result of another missile strike at the Mezhevaya station in the Dnipropetrovsk region, a train with ammunition for the AFU was destroyed. Railway stations throughout Ukraine are used by the Ukrainian military for transfer of ammunition and heavy military equipment from NATO to the frontlines.
