The Russian Ministry of Defenses has provided a detailed summary of Ukrainian losses across the front over the past week.
According to the ministry, the Russian military carried out 14 group strikes with high-precision long-range missiles and drones against ammunition depots, missile and artillery weapons, military-technical hardware, production workshops for weapons and military equipment as well as accommodation points for Ukrainian troops, nationalists and foreign mercenaries between September 29 and October 6.
“As a result of the strikes, one workshop for Punisher and Furia attack and reconnaissance drones, storage facilities for HIMARS projectiles, Storm Shadow and Scalp cruise missiles as well as explosives manufacturing components for ammunition production were wiped out,” the ministry said.
It added that temporary deployment points of Ukrainian nationalists, foreign mercenaries and instructors were also targeted.
The ministry also provided details about the combat situation in different directions within the special military operation zone over the past week.
In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian Zapad Group of Forces repelled four counter-attacks by Kiev forces, according to the ministry.
“Aviation and artillery launched strikes at the AFU [Armed Forces of Ukraine] 25th air assault, 14th, 43rd, 92nd mechanized brigades manpower and hardware near Sinkovka, Timkovka (Kharkov region), Novoselovskoye and Novolyubovka (Lugansk People’s Republic),” the ministry said.
According to the ministry, Ukrainian losses in this direction over the past week amounted to 405 troops, five tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 15 motor vehicles as well as 15 field artillery cannons.
Four Ukrainian ammunition depots were also targeted and destroyed by Russian forces in the outskirts of Volchansk, Kupyansk and Liptsy.
In the Krasny Liman direction, Ukraine’s 12th Special Forces Brigade, 63rd and 67th mechanized brigades made unsuccessful attempts to regain lost positions near Yampolovka, Chervonaya Dibrova and Kuzmino.
The ministry said that 17 attacks were repelled in this direction as a result of the “competent actions by units of the Tsentr Group of Forces, airstrikes, artillery fire and heavy flamethrowers.”
Up to 430 Ukrainian troops were killed or wounded during the fighting, according to the ministry, who noted that 13 armored fighting vehicles, 14 motor vehicles and 12 guns were also destroyed.
In the Donetsk direction, Kiev forces strengthen their defenses close to Avdeevka, Maryinka and Toretsk. At the same time, they made an attempt to carry out offensive actions towards Pervomayskoye, Nevelskoye and Krasnogorovka.
“Over the week, the Yug Group of Forces units repelled 34 AFU attacks,” the ministry said.
As a result of the fighting in this direction, more than 1,745 Ukrainian troops, 18 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 27 motor vehicles, 13 field artillery guns and one Grad multiple rocket launcher were neutralized. Air and artillery strikes also destroyed three ammunition depots.
In the South Donetsk direction, Russian forces repelled 11 Ukrainian attacks over the past week. In addition, air and artillery strikes hit several gatherings of manpower and equipment.
“Enemy losses were more than 755 troops killed and wounded, eight tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 19 motor vehicles and 11 field artillery guns,” the ministry said.
In the Zaporozhye direction, Russian forces took intensive actions to capture favorable lines and new positions. They also repelled two counter-attacks by Ukraine’s 65th mechanized, 71st jaeger brigades close to Verbovoye and Rabotino.
Up to 320 Ukrainian troops were killed or wounded and 14 armored fighting vehicles, 20 motor vehicles as well as 25 field artillery guns were destroyed during the fighting in this direction, according to the ministry.
Meanwhile in the Kherson direction, Kiev forces made unsuccessful attempts to capture bridgeheads on islands and the left bank of the Dnepr.
Ukrainian losses in this direction over the past week amounted to 235 troops, six field artillery guns and 17 motor vehicles, the ministry said, adding that five ammunition depots were destroyed and two sabotage and reconnaissance groups were targeted.
The ministry also announced that the Russian Aerospace Forces shot down Su-27, Su-25 and MiG-29 warplanes of Ukrainian Air Force close to Soldatskoye, Sergeevka and Kleshcheyevka. A second Su-25 was eliminated near Dolgintsevo airfield..
Russian Missile Troops and Artillery also destroyed one Buk air defense system close to Burlatskoye as well as three P-18 detecting and tracking radars near Nikanorovka, Krinichki and Novobogdanovka, according to the ministry.
The ministry noted that the Black Sea Fleet neutralized on October 4 two boats and 13 Ukrainien saboteurs during the group’s attempt to land at the seaside of the Crimean Peninsula.
Russian air defenses also intercepted 39 HIMARS, Olkha and Uragan projectiles, four JDAM aerial guided bombs, three HARM anti-radiation missiles as well as two Neptune anti-ship missiles over the past week.
During the same period, 320 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down by air defenses and overwhelmed by electronic warfare systems.
“In total, 486 airplanes and 250 helicopters, 7,572 unmanned aerial vehicles, 440 air defense missile systems, 12,361 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,161 combat vehicles equipped with MLRS, 6,666 field artillery cannons and mortars, as well as 13,850 units of special military equipment have been destroyed during the special military operation,” the ministry concluded.
In addition to the information provided by the ministry, lostarmour.info, a website that tracks military losses, documented seven strikes with Lancet loitering munitions and 147 strikes with FPV suicide drones against Kiev forces between September 29 and October 6.
The Ukrainian counteroffensive began more than four months ago. Despite sustaining heavy losses, Kiev forces are yet to break through Russian defenses in any direction. Worsening weather conditions will likely force the Kiev regime to halt the counteroffensive within a few weeks. The chances of a Ukrainian advance before winter are very slim.
