According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the Syrian army and its allies have freed 150km of the border with Iraq including the T2 gas pumping station from ISIS and now they are developing the offensive in the direction of the city of al-Bukamal. Government forces are allegedly deployed within 26km of this strategic ISIS-held city.

they are progressing everywhere, no reason to rush to deir ezzor. if the SAA opens multiple frontlines, IS cant capture deir ezzor because they have to defend a large frontline in central syria. i think they also gave up capturing deir ezzor, the SAA´s defense is to strong. besides whats with the desert region at al-tanf? the russion MoD showed a large map in their video where the pocket was very small around al-tanf. so the US proxys surrendered their territory?

There is speculation to as US/Coalition forces withdrawing from Al-Tanf. The US has been admonished by Lavrov for supporting an allegedly called democratic inclusive group in not being either truly secular or democratic.

Read it on the Sana news site they blocked it on YouTube believe it was part of the story on the sorties by Deir Ez zoir defenders which destroyed a terrorist training camp killing scores of ISIS and a leader . Then a group of citizens attacked 3 ISIS vehicles with IEDs killing 9 at the Bk-Omar cross roads and the Saudi terrorist Abu Hamzeh an ISIS “emir” was among the dead.

They are pushing on different fronts forcing pressure on ISUS to defend the various fronts this way they can encircle towards Deir Ez zoir, then another northward push while Abukmal , Al-Sukhana are under siege . The plan is pretty straight forward since they had been attacking from one front not a good use of the military force they have. ISUS numbers are not as numerous and limited in raiding and defending an light counter attacks if concentrated.

The PMU/ISF have also been keeping it quiet about when they take some R and R also on the operations , if the SAA is on the move along the border then assume the PMU/ISF are also.
Collapsing , yes. But Abu kamal will still be heavily fortified. They’ll have to stop at T2 and wait for deir ezzor to fall, and possibly al qaim, before attempting to take Abu kamal.
They need to lay siege at the same time as PMU/ISF seige Al Qaim at Abu Kamal they can control the area ,according to the Russians T2 is already under SAA control and the desert around Al Tanf is getting enclosed.
T2 was last serious ISIL outpost in the desert east of Euphrates. Sensible thing is to fortify it, repair the airstrips for Mi-8s and -35s and stock it up. It’s not only going to be the base for SAA left prong when the time for the expected sprint to the Border comes. It will be very important strong point for beating off ISIL raids across from Iraq. it’s very important for Iraq to start cleaning house their side of the border. i hope that recent treaty with Iran was aimed in that direction.
