Few moments ago, the Russian Defense Ministry confimred in an official statement that Syrian troops have cross the Euphrates River and liberates some villages on its eastern bank.
According to the statement, government forces, joined by the 4th Armoured Division, crossed the river using a pontoon bridge.
“The storm troops of the Syrian army have driven IS militants out of a number of villages on the eastern shore of Euphrates and are carrying out an offensive in the eastern direction, broadening the foothold they seized,” the ministry said, according to the Russian state-run media outlet TASS.
Meanwhile, government forces advanced against ISIS in the Saker Island on the eastern bank of the Euphrates, capturing at least the Saudi villa, and allegedly forcing ISIS to retreat in the direciotn of the Kanafat bridge. Some pro-government sources even claimed that the entire island has been already liberated. However, the situation remains unclear amid a lack of videos and photos from the area.
the best led coalition on earth … kudos to syria and her true allies … march on
Go Syria! Go Hezbollah! israhell is going down baby!
OUTSTANDING NEWS ! Way to go SAA! Jump that river :))) https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/a3d2c0e48c9c1ee5bfdb12b30df04a9226016649f3d09fa6f16c6984267ec197.jpg
Beautiful stuff – go get em!
Good, good!
Now advance north and shake the hands of SDF troops, as they grind their teeth in impotence, then race east towards the Iraqi border. And after that finish off ISIS at leisure. Let the US and the SDF have their little victory in Raqqa, congratulate them and leave them to stew uselessly in their little part of the world.
“Now advance north and shake the hands of SDF troops, …”
And thank for their up to till now efforts, but now they can leave Syria. :)
It always pays to be polite.
Yes indeed, a little thank you as you relieve them of all ill gotten gains (including the land) taking names and numbers (to send them birthday cards of course) as they exit and booty is returned to the returning citizens.
That can come later, after ISIS and the other head choppers are defeated. One has to take into account that for years the Syrian government and the Kurds were unofficial allies. Helping each other where they could, especially in the darkest days when half of Aleppo was still Jihadi country and not a single Russian aircraft in the skies over Syria. If they want to they can reach an agreement. Which I think is in Syria’s long term interest.
That won’t happen as Kurds have always been more ambitious than they have been smart and why they were not allowed to have a country in the region before. They were used by the Ottoman Jewish Janissaries and again by the Europeans, US and Jews again , seems they are caught in a cycle. They will have less to bargain with and be left holding the bag as the US slinks away from this mess slowly, once those oilfields are secured by the SAA and her staunch Allies. Russia is playing dimensional chess and the US is stuck playing checkers on 4 squares.
The Kurds could still have their uses to Damascus and Russia as a counter towards Turkey. Just because Turkey is more friendly now towards Damascus and Russia doesn’t mean it will remain so forever. Who knows when Ankara might crazy ideas again.
As it is the Kurds pose no problem to the regime’s survival, unlike ISIS, Al Qaida and the other assorted headchoppers and their Western and Gulf state backers. Also chances are that the Kurds will piss off the Arabs under their control with their extreme left wing agenda. They’re not the darlings of SJW’s, feminists and ANTIFA activists for nothing. It’s bound to piss off more traditional Arabs. This could work long term in Damascus’ favor.
Just remember they call on dissension in Idlib with the weakening Terrorist groups there. Their leadership has always been overly ambitious. Many Kurds just go along for the sake and not try to rock the boat, others are more open in opposition to these Usurpers from Spook central.
The point is the Anarchy brigades are a large part of the SDF the volunteer forces, mostly you see the women from these brigades and the Kurds went to great lengths to hide some of these groups. They have about 6 groups from Germany alone and that doesn’t include he Tunisian ones. What will happen when they all return home , the last time many people forget about. They are several groups and it’s members from the US , they have been returning home and are involved in the violence there.
The Kurds numbers are low in Syria so mostly you see are Iraqi and Turks in Syria. They don’t have any use as a buffer against the Turks since the only ones who are at the Northern border are Kurds and even some have fled the violence by PKK for safer areas.
Erdogan is seeing that Turkey will not be treated as a real equal in the EU and NATO, this is an issue with their position right now. Don’t really see Turkey as a real threat in the long run, but see that Kurds are easily manipulated by their hatred and biases. Many Arabs never mind them being traditional or not see Antifa and the Anarchy groups as terrorists, many in the west are finally realizing this.
There is no point in dealing with someone who tries to backstab you, so the options that existed will be no longer available. The Kurds didn’t do any real fighting so they won’t have any value with their intentional poor training. The Arabs forces do most of the fighting in Raqqa where the Kurds just get ready for a photo shoot.
US polite is dropping bombs on everybody so approach with caution they have never broken themselves of that habit yet.
Yes.
As I can see, they have crossed not the main flow of Euphrates, but some its branch. Anyway, it’s good as a first step.
they took 1 island and also crossed the main flow of river
https://twitter.com/MorocanArab/status/909707545337622528
To cross the river and to take Saker island are two different project and both are well done.
If so, it’s ok. While on the map we can see that only some part of Saker island is captured at the moment. And no graphical info regarding left bank.
Look closer and compare to google maps. They are across the river from Saker island. The river takes a sharp up turn.
Now I see having the updated map.
If they have truly crossed and if this gets confirmed?
Then 3 things come to light?
1. The Americans are extremely pro-Assad (Which I truly believe they were from the get-go until now despite them saying otherwise
2. The Kurds were nothing more then a Condom for the US.. used and dispatched.
3. The US is so pro-Assad to the point they are willing to turn on even Israel for Assad? (Honestly if they cross the Euphrates and the US let them this is what will be revealed to the world)
I have never bought the gibberish some of Assad fanboys have been writing about the US and they know it’s bullshit and I also believe the reason Russia got involved is because the Americans called them in to assist Assad and move into Syria.
The US have sold themselves to Assad and Hezbullah to the point where everyone else would be sidelined
Oh, our little sugar boy is disappointed that it runs not the way he had wet dreams of.
No not at all. this just gets revealed to everyone but I kinda knew it from the get-go. So I never bought into all the bravado
russia-syria-iran and hezbollah will fuck THE USA FORCES HERE
Very good news, Russia has a long tradition of crossing rivers during the Great patriotic war : Dniepr, Vistula, Oder…
Capture Highway 7 junction before the SDF does, I don’t know if they are already there but roads are everything at this point when it comes to controlling the territories.
It looks like the pontoon bridge sections may not have been used to build a stationary bridge. Because I haven’t seen a picture of one yet. What I have seen is that they’re using sections of bridge as truck transportable temporary barges or cable ferries to move heavier pieces of equipment that aren’t amphibious, like tanks and trucks. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/1a6cae273e63b9da93f92cdf42253bea35dd34d906047dff7f865863df09fb8a.png

What you don’t see in these reposts, and what isn’t being reported on for security reasons. Is Syrian government coalition military activity that’s going on in enemy territory ahead of the front lines. And right now there’s a great deal of it. Both containing the SDF advance and attacking Isis.
