On November 26th, Commander-in-chief of the Russian Navy Admiral Vladimir Korolyov spoke about new developments in an interview with Krasnaya Zvezda, the Russian Ministry of Defense’s official newspaper. He spoke of participation of Russian sailors in large-scale war games in 2018, naval parades, carrying out tasks both on the surface of the water and under it, studying the World Ocean by hydrographs, as well as what is to be solved in 2019. Most notably, he spoke of new warships and submarines that are to be deployed.

Russian Navy To Receive 416 Units Of Modern Weapons & Military Equipment By End Of 2018

Russian Navy Admiral Vladimir Korolyov

In 2019, the frigates “Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov” and “Admiral Makarov”, the large landing ship “Ivan Gren”, the icebreaker “Ilya Muromets” and the logistics ship “Elbrus” are to be delivered to the Navy.

In addition to that, tests of the project 22350 frigate “Admiral Kasatonov” are to be carried out in December 2018. In 2019, tests on the newest landing ship, the “Peter Morgunov” are to also take place. The plan is to deliver these ships to the Navy in the near future.

The construction of a series of small missile ships, under the project 22800 at the Pella company is also to be implemented. Six such ships will be built for the Baltic Fleet, and a total of 18 units for the Navy.

Quite recently, the small rocket flagship of project 22800 “Hurricane” completed state tests in the northern seas, demonstrating high seaworthiness and high reliability, which significantly surpassed the design figures. The “Hurricane” will be delivered to the Navy in December 2018.

By the end of 2018, the fleet will receive 416 units of modern weapons and military equipment, including warships and boats, support vessels, aviation equipment, as well as radar and anti-aircraft missile systems.

In 2019, the Navy plans to accept the “Prince Vladimir” and Kazan nuclear submarines built at the Sevmash enterprise in Severodvinsk.

The “Knyaz Vladimir” (Prince Vladimir) submarine was floated out:

In terms of submarines, the construction of a series of diesel-electric hybrid submarines under project 636.3 will continue for the submarine forces of the Northern Fleet. There is also on-going construction of at least 12 units of the latest diesel-electric hybrid submarines of the Lada type.

In all, about 30 ships and support vessels are to be built for the Russian Navy. Work will continue on development of 5th generation nuclear submarines.

The admiral said that the course of surface ships and submarines will continue – aimed at the construction of carriers of high-precision weapons, with advanced maneuverability, stealth and survivability.

Korolyov also emphasized on the need to further deepen interactions with defense industry companies and design organizations. To this end, he has decided to conduct a weekly “Innovation Hour” at the Admiralty. During these meetings, Navy officials will discuss with industry representatives the implementation of a number of work areas on the latest developments in the field of equipment and weapons, experimental design, surface and underwater shipbuilding.

At least try to finish overhaul of Kirov class “Admiral Nakhimov” as soon as possible. Russian navy is plagued by delays of deliveries of big ships, because of bad conditions in Russian shipbuilding.

Jesus

The overhaul of Admiral Nakhimov got evolved from initial plans, it is waiting for the deployment for the S500 and Zircon…among other things.

jako

That is pure disinformation. Zircon’s were part of the plan from the start. So no news there at all. Because Zircon’s will use absolutely the same launchers they use for Kalibr and Onix missiles that are being installed on “A. Nakhimov” anyway. So when Zircons comes out of the production those launcher will be ready for them ! And S-500 on “A. Nakhimov” is either your personal nonsense or you have picked that info from some sensationalist article. S-500 are not even operational yet let alone to have them as naval option. And “A. Nakhimov” will be finished and out in few years (with all delays). Do you know how many years took Russia to make naval version of S-400?! If you do than do not make bombastic statements that have no relation to the reality what so ever! Or if that yours S-500 story is true than “Admiral Nakimov” would be realistically ready in 2025-2030 and not in few years! Which would be pure nonsense to overhaul the ship for almost 10 – 20 years! You probably are confounding info on overhaul of “Piter The Great” that will start right after the “Admiral Nakhimov” Now that is totally another story. “Piter The Great” will get the S-500 for sure.

Jesus

I know Zircon will use the same vertical launchers used by Kalibr and Oniks missiles, the question of how many launchers and the actual deployment and firing of Zircon from the launcher still needs to take place. There is no need of naval version of S400, the Russian Navy is going with the Poliment Redut air defense system, for immediate air defense system, the S500 will have anti ballistic capabilities far superior to S400, the deployment of S500 is not that far off, your opinions are based on your understanding, the Lidder destroyers would deploy a tested S500 system. All capital ships will get the S500, since these capital ships will form the backbone of blue water naval task forces and have the capacity to deploy large quantities of various missiles and play a major role in a sea based antiballistic missile.

You are just talking lots of nonsense again. And all that BLAH-BLAH serves to show off how knowledgeable of the subject you are (which you are really not)

Yes there is need for naval S-400 “admiral” Jesus if not Russians would not talk about it at all! And what is “Poliment Redut” if not in way naval S-400?!? The land-based Vityaz (S-350)medium-range air defense system that is actually naval “Poliment Redut” is built around the 9M96 missile (that is S-400 medium range missile). It is identical to S-400 capabilities when it comes to MEDIUM range the only difference with S-400 is absence of LONG range missile that S-400 has. The smaller ships can’t accommodate long range missiles anyways. And Kirov is very big ship so she can do that easily.

And all that empty BLAH-BLAH lecturing on S-500 you can kindly stuff up your arse. That works only on people who don’t know nothing on the subject. I have told you that S-500 can NOT POSSIBLY BE READY in naval version in the next 5-10 years even for testing let alone for installing on the ships. Admiral Akhimov will only have S-400 END OF STORY! “Peter The Great” will have S-500 when they start overhaul after “A. Akhimov” “Admiral Akhimov”will come out in few years with S-400 !

If you have link to prove your rubbish theory of S-500 on “Admiral Akhimov” post link ! I am 100% sure that all that S-500 bullshit is yours personal theory only (as usual) !

Jesus

“””You are just talking lots of nonsense again.””” May I remind you that you are clueless based on past discussions where you claimed the Khinzhal was a weapon only designed for sea targets, and that Iran did not have ballistic missiles with multiple warheads, Sarmat traveling at Mach 7………. it goes on and on. Your lack of comprehension regarding S500 is very identical to your understanding of the Khinzhal missile, the S500 will provide the Russian navy with ability to intercept SSBN’s launches from close proximity and kill them. Where are you getting your info about a navalized S400? You want something written or a link for this to make sense to you? Do you understand strategic concepts, and how weapons fulfill these concepts? Russians could very well have a parallel development of the S500 land based and sea based.

jako

S-500 are NOT EVEN IN PRODUCTION yet, you simpleton and you are talking about NAVAL version of S-500 like it is ready!?!! You can’t develop NAVAL S-500 before other one is ready!!! It would be like throwing money through the window if they would do that!! – At the time EVERYWHERE was published that Khinzhal was a weapon ONLY designed for sea targets! Iran does NOT have tech to build nuke multiple warheads and whoever claims opposite is full of shit just like you always are ! IF they have ballistic missiles with multiple nuke warheads than those multiple warheads are of CHINESE or Russian origin only ! Iranian’s can’t build fucking airplane without making stupid COPY of U.S. 3rd generation F-5, let alone to do miniaturization of nuke warheads and even less making multiple nuke warheads!

You comments as usual are just arrogant PILE OF NONSENSE based on nothing but your pretentious imaginary theories that have nothing to do with PUBLISHED FACTS!

I hate your retarded comments do not talk to me at all !!!

Jesus

Listen up, eat only what you are able to chew, stay away from the stuff the chokes you.

beypuutyina

still no facts from you, false prophet! :DDD

beypuutyina

you are big liar and jako pointed on this fact in very nice and intelligent way.

Jesus

Russian navy is making progress in developing domestic power power plants and finalizing designs for super Gorshkov’s and Lidder destroyers, while continuing with the construction of diesel subs, Gorshkov and Grigorovich class frigates, Borei and Yassen class subs.

R Trojson

That fleet of aircraft carriers is the pride of the Russian Navy and envy of the world. China, I repeat China has a far better navy than Russia.
